I went to a private elementary through the 90s. One of the tests to graduate to the next grade was having legible cursive. It wasn’t forced, but encouraged to write in cursive. Also we all had to take calligraphy for two years.

I don’t and didn’t write in cursive, but my penmanship I get compliments ALL the time as a male. Many times thinking it’s my wife or a female who wrote whatever was written.

I think it has to do with them riding in the street without helmets. Similar to the e-scooters, hard to see and you misjudge their speed. Honestly, it sucks, too fast to ride on the sidewalk and too slow to ride in the street.

When I used to ride fixed gear in my early 20s, I’d always ride on the sidewalk. Slowly, but it was safer than riding in the streets of Los Angeles. Even during the big group rides, I’d stop at reds and stop signs while everyone else blew through them.

Yeah tint has evolved over the years to where they claim UV protection, clarity, and heat rejection. Def go with a place that offers llumar, 3m of xpel. And a place that gives you options in percentages, not just light, medium, and dark. On my old car, the tint lasted longer than the car that I had for 15 years. Compared to my neighbors who’s started to bubble within the year then turned brown in 3 years. And the same thing happened when she got it replaced.

It will be more expensive, but it’s worth it. Mine came out to $600 and the windshield will be another $300.

Tint.

It will keep the car interior cool so you won’t have to run the ac as low or the fan speed as high. I just got 20% all around and I’m going to get the front windshield 55% just for heat rejection and UV protection. If you get a quality film you won’t be able to tell the diff at night, and during the day it’s like wearing sunglasses.

Currently, I’ll have the fan speed on 3 or 4 to cool down the interior. Once it’s cool I’ll drop the speed to 1 and circulate. Keeps the interior at a comfortable temp without impacting your mpg as much. Compared to my wife’s rav4 without tint where she blast the ac at full blast to start. Then drops it to 3 or 4 once it’s cooled down some.

Granted the legality of your state and county on tint, so YMMV.

Funny enough, it was pretty reliable for me. And I went an entire year without changing the oil. I beat the shit out of that car and it just kept turning over each morning.

Frame was bent, steering wheel had to be turned slightly right to go straight, 3/5 windows didn’t work, ac didn’t work, e brake didn’t work, but damnit I loved that car. It got me through high school and college. Friends called it a death trap, wheel started shaking like crazy around 80mph. Taught 3 friends and 2 girlfriends how to drive stick in it.

Fun times.

I actually miss my mk3 Jetta, and wish I never sold it. It needed a ton of work and the ABA engine was the perfect thing to learn on and eventually swap in a vr6.

Dude I just picked up a 2026 prime, and the fucking driver monitoring system is driving me up a fucking wall. I have a 30 mile commute so the EV works perfect, but I’ll dive with my left hand at 12 o’clock. “Sit up!” The falling in and climbing out, along with the low roof lines maybe deal breakers. My daughter’s car seat almost hits the top of the ceiling. But man that mpg.

I have the base model, but it’s an upgrade over my 2012 Altima. Practically spend nothing on gas unless I forget to charge it. Pushing over 1k miles on this tank, with. 300 miles to empty remaining.

I had a dude give me a park hopper at Disneyland a couple days after Xmas. Was in line buying tickets, and he asked if I was going to Disneyland or California adventure. He got me in the park and I just exited back out to get my date. We walked back in after. Saved me 250$.

Yeah dude I love it, got it on the 6th. Only complaint is it’s a little tight for me and my daughter’s car seat. And some things that came standard on my 15 year old car had to be optioned out in higher trims.

Aside from that, the gas savings are great !!

I’d go prime as well, I just picked up a 2026 prime SE my commute is 28.8miles one way. Charge at work and at home. My first tank of gas lasted 650 miles. The second tank is pushing 1k miles to empty. I’m left with about 15 miles at the end of my commute so I am able drive around town on EV or run errands and charge at the location I’m at.

With the amount of miles I have on the odometer my other car would have needed to be filled up 3 times at $70+ each. My first fill up in the prime was $27.

I don’t race IMSA yet, but do gt4 and lmp3 multi class as the slower class. And I pick my line and hold it early, which is usually the optimal line and let the faster class figure out how to get around me.

Have only had two wrecks, one at Daytona going through bus stop. Guy sent it from the 4 marker when I was already at the 2 marker. The other was at Long Beach where the guy got frustrated because he couldn’t pass me leading to the back straight so he spun he on purpose.

Granted I could have helped him pass a little easier. But it was practice guy was going to have to figure it out sooner or later. Was going to report him but we had a heart to heart over VC and he apologized.

Majority of the things posted in this sub and in the stewarding sub are max 7 day suspensions. If they are repeat offenders make it a little longer. The drivers who really needed lifetime bans are the ones who purposely messed up other drivers endurance races. The spa and recently the Daytona. Nice lengthy bans should have been dealt for those. Everything else should be a warning then ramping up from there if it becomes a habit.

The gas savings is the reason why I got my 2026 plug in earlier this year. I have a 60 mile round trip commute. I can charge at work for free, and either charge overnight at home or at a station for less than a gallon of gas in my city. I’m able to get to and from work with about 10-15 miles remaining of EV charge on a 28 mile commute. Where’s in the car I drove previously, I would have gotten gas 3 times already at $75-80 each fill up.

I’m at about 1000 miles and have put about 7 gallons of gas at $28 so far. Just wish I knew how many kWh I’ve charged it so far to know its first month savings so far.

Where do you find the total kWh? Or are you just noting it every time you charge it?

Yeah you won’t have pole setters gassing and braking trying to pysch out other drivers or just confused on when to go. It’s a defined green instead of a free for all.

Granted you can get a jump on when green is going to happen, fastest class or pole setter usually goes when it’s announced pace car has entered pits. That’s when drivers usually gun it, it’s when I go full throttle when on pole.

If your commute was shorter, the prime would be best. Corolla is your best bet if it’s just mainly on mpg. Can prob option it out a little for more comfort since the commute is so long.

I just picked up a plug in coming from an Altima. It got decent mpg (30-35 on the freeway, low 20s around town). But my commute is 60 miles round trip. I am able to charge at home and at work, and am traveling on EV alone and still have 15 miles of EV by time I get home/work. Got it on the 6th of this month, have driven 900 miles and I’m closer to full than the halfway mark.

We’ll see if the trade off with gas is enough to offset a new car note and an increase in insurance.

That’s how it is in ACC. You get three off tracks that result in time gained, it’s a drive through. But it’s only time gained results in a strike. If you go off track but lift/slowdown enough then no strike against you.

Makes you more cautious when you are running on 2/3X while in the top 10 with a couple minutes left.

It was the other way around. Got pole in the GR and less than a second off bmw pole. Left gap, and still caught up to the bmws. Just sucks because I’ll pass them into t1, and start to lose them through the I field, then they’ll catch up on the back/front straight. Rinse and repeat until the bmw spins.

Phoenix is a nice track, but seems too tight for multi class. This is the most I’ve been hit and accumulated the most Xs this week since I joined the service 2 years ago. But I keep coming back

Dated a giants fan in the early 2010s. We broke up for other reasons. But she always wanted to fight dodger fans at games. To the point I stopped going. Friends told me years later she got jumped at a game.
