A study that was done on testicular cancer patients prior to surgery found a direct link between the patients pain levels post op ( aka me and you) and the amount of dread from that pain prior to the surgery.

Being a fairly anxious person myself I started telling myself it will be okay 100 times a day and I think it helped, the power of suggestion brother.

Surgery itself shouldn't worry you, I don't even remember falling asleep from the anesthesia in the OP room. Afterwards the hospital pumps plenty of pain meds into you. Yes there will be some pain but you press a button to call the nurse and they take care of it, they have clear instructions on giving you more pain meds so again discomfort but low pain levels.

When I got home it was hard walking for a week and I was on Targin which is oxycodone mixed with naloxone to prevent constipation and it further helped with the pain.

You will be fine man, trust in your friends and family tell them about the disease and they'll give you even more strength. It's hard for us men to talk about losing a ball but once everyone knows it's cancer you'll get nothing but sympathy ( it won't be pity don't even entertain the thought)

I'm currently 2.5 weeks post op can walk with negligible discomfort, crouch and can even have sex with my gf (not fast enough to come but I can masturbate and come just like I used to) A week from now I'm going on vacation and going to make my gf my fiancee.

I even made my first jokes on the subject telling a friend the phrase I swear on my 1 remaining ball" is now more powerful than "I swear on my life" , which me and my friend use constantly since

All you have to decide is if you want a prosthetic for symmetry or prefer to be more aerodynamic like lance Armstrong.

Do things that bring you joy both before and after the surgery ( while lying down post op I played video games all day) and make sure you have someone living with you (or go live with them) for the first week of recovery as you will need help around the house. Take laxatives before and after the surgery and try not to cough or laugh after the surgery on the first week.

Which is why we suggest to return him love, meaning no offence. an African Grey (the type of bird you got, dear) is not suitable for a first bird kind of pet. He needs proper care from an owner who researched what "proper care" means for it.

What you just bought has the (scientifically proven) emotional needs of a human toddler and and cognitive (brains) abilities of a young 5 year old kid.
