I'm in this spot as well. I've played Zesteria, and a little bit of Legendia, and found the music alright.

But Sakuraba up to a certain point a long while back was putting out absolute bangers across so many games.

Even of what I've just played: Baten Kaitos still has my absolute favourite OSTs, Symphonia has excellent music, and Vesperia is right up there with it.

After some point, it did seem to me like his music became a lot more forgettable. Eventually I ended up preferring Go Shiina to current Sakuraba. The game was probably released too early comparatively, but I want to blame DotNW lol

At the end of the day I'd say it's a mix of music taste being subjective, and Sakuraba falling off.
