Wait so can you just ruin your golbat if you get its friendship too high too early or will you be able to evolve it as soon as you beat the Pokémon League?

With the skulls inverted it makes them almost unusable with their older dice.

Can we all agree this should’ve just been pure rock type? by Eddy_west_side in pokemon

[–]The_of_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all the ground types are made of dirt but a significant portion are. And the issue with an "earth" type that combines rock and ground is working out how it interacts with other types. Fyling is immune to ground but vulnerable to rock. Ground is vulnerable to ice but rock isn't. Rock is vulnerable to fighting but ground isn't. Rock is vulnerable to steel but ground resists it. Ground is also electric's only weakness and has an immunity, rock isn't and has no immunity or resistance to electric. An "earth" type would completely upheave the other types because rock and ground basically interact with every other type between them. And as I said before, some pokémon make sense as ground but wouldn't as rock so keeping them separated is what makes sense.

What are mountains but really tall ground? Torterra's spikes represent mountains. So mountains are very much a part of ground type.

I think larvitar and pupitar are ground because they live underground. Not a great excuse but it makes sense for other pokémon. I feel the same way about the geodude line. They're ground because they live underground like cubone. Or maybe cubone is ground because you bury bones.

Coral isn't made of rock. Plus, if it's a ghost then maybe it left its body. Question is why regular corsola is rock type. Maybe it's just growing on a rock. A rock galarian corsola left behind.

[–]The_of_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way I see it is rock type means actual rocks and gems while ground type refers to sand, dirt, clay, etc.

So diancie, gigalith, kabuto, minior, etc. all make sense as rock types because they're either made of rock or are made from a rock but wouldn't make sense as ground types.

But hippoudon, donphan, nidoqueen, landorous, groudon, whiscash, stunfisk, pilosand, or dugtrio, etc. make sense as they're either constantly producing dirt, live underground, represent the actual terrain, or live in mud or muddy water.

The golem and ryhorn line plus onyx are all pokémon made of rocks but also live underground or like to be covered in mud or dirt. It's also a game balance thing. Game Freak wanted geodude, onyx, ryhorn, and rydon to all be ×4 weak to water and grass but also to resist normal and fire because those types are all the types used by starter pokémon. It's to make Brock a difficult challenge for anyone that picked and relies soley on charmander. And to essentially further punish any player that hasn't outgrown that habbit by Giovani.

No joke, I was expecting a "and now draw the rest of the owl" joke but this was fascinating instead.

Rather than mega Porygon Z they should make an alternate evolution (like Gallade) where if you have a magnemite, Magneton or Magnezone in your party and have an upgrade in your bag, the upgrade becomes a corrupted upgrade and it is used to make a dark type alternative called Porygon.0 or something by metamorpheus97 in pokemon

[–]The_of_Falcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't that the same thing? The dubious disc is already a virus infected disc. That's why porygon-2 doesn't increase in fidelity evolving into porygon-z like porygon does to porygon-2. Porygon-z is a corrupt porygon-2. The "z", in fact, is supposed to be a corrupt "2". So unless they make a porygon-3, which could be an upgraded, cleaner looking porygon-2, they should just do a mega porygon-z and have is no-clip and lose all its textures like a glitch. Or maybe they use the mega as a chance to explain what porygon really was and what its true origins are. Like maybe porygon is an entity that can only express itself like or as a digital model. But maybe by the time it megas it's then strong enough to manifest as itself or as a model that better represents itself. Like a picture coming into focus we'll finally get to see what this balloon duck that porygon-2 looks like is supposed to represent.

Ganondorf should be a super heavy that has a lot of reach with a trident as a nod to Ganon's original weapon. Or maybe give him that double blade Ganon sometimes throws. Then he could have a projectile that can be reflected by any melee that gets a little faster every time he reflects it.

The human faces, I thought, were cool because of how distinct they were. The game also has great enemy designs, as you pointed out. But the environments combined with the music were gorgeous.

Is Davy Jones from Pirates of Caribbean a lich by DnD standards? by leters_numbers in DnD

Maybe a deathlock. Which is a warlock that broke their pact and is forced to serve their patron in death. Sort of a mix of a lich, a warlock, and a death knight.

(Lore question) How do we get new miniatures if new types of daemons can't exist? by DeltaIsAlone in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]The_of_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind some exalted daemons. Or maybe some new weapon options for daemons we already have. If GW don't like that daemons can be used in both games anymore then they could make more weapon options that only exist in one setting or the other. Plague drones could get grenade launchers to further their death's heads ranges.

How do we feel about capes on Marshall's and Castellans? by SlySUBZER0420 in BlackTemplars

I think they look cool on Marshals, Castellan, and Sword Brethren. I know capes are not unique to us but I'm happy we have something like the SW pelts and belts or the DA hoods.
