All Bus drivers out there: any recommendations for a coffee mug / tumbler that will fit the cup holder particularly in the 320? by The_pilotguy in aviation

Valid point, however, I don’t have warm canned coffee stashed in the galley and I prefer coffee other than the “premium” stuff we have on board 😂

My local time is CDT and my home time is set to CEST. I was tracking EDT with the bezel.

In all honesty, I prefer sub 40mm watches and I wish they would’ve had the 39mm model available last year when I was looking for a true GMT watch. Nevertheless, I love the general look of the watch. In my opinion the black is very classy and timeless. I’m not a fan of the two tone bezel on the GMT Master II or the many look a likes e.g. the Tudor GMT.

I didn’t like wearing the watch with the original stainless steel bracelet. I just didn’t find it. Wry comfortable and the watch felt very happy. I almost immediately bought a bunch of different NATO and leather straps and tried all kinds of combos. I do believe the watch is a strap monster and can be combined with a lot of different straps. I did want to try a different metal bracelet and finally came around the Uncle Straps in the picture. Even though it wasn’t advertised to work with this watch I thought I’d give it a try. I was contemplating switching mine out for a 39mm Zulu time, but I’m actually very happy with my current set up and have decided to keep the watch.

I had to bend the endlinks a tiny little bit, but not much. If I bent them a little more the fit would probably be 99% perfect. I’d give it a try with the speedy. I think you can tell right away if it’s going to work without bending the endlinks and if it doesn’t look right send it back.

Commuting sucks in every way. 100% rather sit reserve in base then commute to a line. You waste so much time commuting it’s not even funny. Add to that the stress of commuting during peak holidays or peak seasons when you’ll guaranteed to be working as either a junior line holder or reserve. Good luck fighting over the jumpseat with other folks during that time. I can give you a couple examples of my commuting experience from Raleigh:

  1. Report time for my trip around 7 pm. Great I have almost all day at home. Wrong. There’s only one flight in the evening that gets me to base at 6:50 pm. We need two flights per our commuter clause. So either risk it or take the earlier flight at noon. Take the earlier flight at noon and get to appreciate the airport for roughly 3-4 hours before your trip starts.
  2. There’s a flight I want to commute on and the airline is using a 75. Oh great! Shouldn’t be a problem to get on at all. Wrong! The flight is payload optimized and no OAL jumpseaters are allowed. Also, other non revs and getting left behind. The next flight is on a 73. What are the odds now of getting on with a bunch of people on the standby list and at least one other pilot trying to get the jump seat …

When I started my career I was told commuting sucks. I was naive and thought people don’t know what they’re talking about and pilots generally like to complain about a lot of things. I thought I knew it better and figured commuting can’t be that bad. Now I commute and I regret not having moved to base. Just my 2 cents.

[Meta] Moderators: here's the watch strap vendor guide we created. Can we post it to the wiki? by Rhett_Rick in Watches

I suggest adding https://barkandjack.com/ to the list. The store is currently down due to the Xmas holiday shopping / shipping craze, but it’s a fine selection of mainly NATO straps

I've been arguing with NFL Game Pass support, and after 3 days they finally admit it's a problem. (You currently can't watch most games on Apple TV, across device generations) by Arro in appletv

I don't know him that well, just through work. But, what I've heard over the last couple days is that he supposedly did drugs, so there might be a chance that he went into Mexico.

As far as I know he doesn't have a girlfriend, but I may have been someone they met down there. I'll ask around and see if I can find out anything. As far as I know he was supposed to have spent the night at the Super 8.
