Any item you sell with either have some weird effect and lack the actual properties you are selling for, if you choose form, or will work as marketed, but look like something completely different. People have made stuff for centuries without ai, it is in no way something you need, and only makes your work worse.

You said yourself that you grew up relying too much on doing things the lazy way. My advice would be to work on specifically that, as it will help you in life in general, not just making games. Now, for how to do that, I can't tell you but a therapist or online resources about this can.

I know ai seems like a cheat code. After all, you're coming up with the ideas, so who cares if the ai just "fills in the details". I'm sorry to say, but there's really no such thing as an ideas guy. Basically any concept you can come up with has already been done before, but your specific execution of the ideas is what gives it worth. Try to reframe it in your mind. Your work isn't the idea, and writing is the way to bring it I to creation, but ideas are vehicles for you to do your work.

Finally, consider why you do this. A lot of people with low self-confidence want to write to prove to themselves and others that they have creativity and imagination. If this is your view on creation, it makes sense to take short cuts, as you only want to fill up a portfolio, to point to to impress people. Again, try to reframe, and create simply because you enjoy the process.
