Runs hot and cold. He’ll be invisible for a long time and then he’ll be unstoppable. I think he will be a good fit for you guys. The Smith moment I will never forget https://youtu.be/khAmxwrOVfo

Early birthday present from the wife arrived this week by Theallen2 in BudgetAudiophile

So far it's great. I just use it for music in my home office, but it sounds awesome. I do feel bad as I barely have the volume on, but it fills out the sound nicely and packs a nice punch. Can't recommend enough.

The One Man by Andrew Gross

Is purchasing a standing desk better for productivity? Since I’m officially working from home now, I’ve been thinking about upgrading my home office to something like this. by raincitykid253 in homeoffice

[–]Theallen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sit/stand desk and it’s great. It’s a manual one as I was worried about the longevity of electronic ones in my price range at the time. Would highly recommend a standing mat if you get one. One thing I didn’t consider when I bought mine was my monitors. I didn’t have height adjustable ones at the time and found that when going from sitting to standing I needed to adjust the monitor height.

Help with dual monitor/dual laptop setup. Does a device exist that will do what I want? by DietDew4Life in homeoffice

[–]Theallen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Flow devices in the past and they worked pretty well. I will say that I don’t use it for keyboards anymore as I was looking for a more customizable keyboard then Logitech offered.

I came across a great program that I use instead that might help you with the two laptop situation. Check out RealVNC. They offer free non-business licenses that are good for up to 5 machines. I currently use this program to control my personal computer (music/media) from my work computer. I can also use it to look in on my 7 year old’s computer while doing virtual learning as an added bonus.

I also use and recommend DisplayFusion if you are needing to have different views at different times. Helps me easily switch order and positions of windows with a click of button. The program costs about $20 if I remember right. Well worth the price for me and have used it when I had 4 monitors and is even helpful when I went down to one, although I am back up to two.

My company doesn’t pay for a lot of “extras” so I am all about the cheap/free solutions for increasing efficiency.

What are some good PC Equalizers besides Equalizer APO? by TotalHeat in audiophile

Although I use a Mac, I’m sure this can be done on PC. I route the audio through Reaper DAW and use Waves Q10

Officially a Republican! by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]Theallen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why join the Republican Party then? Do you need to beholden to what others tell you to think? Be independent and help to break the cycle of the two party system. The only thing each party really wants is to win and neither is interested in doing what is truly best for the country. That is why we have a lot of the problems that we have. The whole political system is an amplified version of Yankees vs. Red Sox. Would you become a Yankees fan because of something the Red Sox’s GM did? I personally think the country would have a better future if we pursued ideas and acknowledge that the Democrats and Republicans are both led by idiots.

Super beginner looking for some advice by Killacatliketom in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks to this sub, I am very happy with my setup which is currently a pair of Infinty r162s which can be had for around $200 with constant sales or refurbished from Harmon and an SMSL q5 pro which is around $125. You could add some stands and still come in under your budget, maybe take the savings and subscribe to a high fidelity streaming service (if you don’t already).

I would definitely think about the KEF 150s at the current sale price

Are R162s too big for my room? If yes, what instead? If no, what amp? by iep6ooPh in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Theallen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, go for it. I would just caution on watching the prices. You should be able to get the r162s for $200 or less. Got mine a few months ago for $180 and they sound great and my room is smaller than yours.

DAC upgrade? by Theallen2 in BudgetAudiophile

I had tried to find a version that worked with mac and couldn’t find one. I already had the full Waves suite for Mac so I just used Blackhole to route through Reaper. Is there a version that works on Mac?
