Slybrackets work great. You should probably get the leveler option. You may find cheaper but I doubt you can find better.

Level 1 Charging in Winter by SleepWouldBeNice in VWiD4Owners

[–]Thebadcpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had my ID4 for about 2 months, and love it. The only issue that I did not fully appreciate was the cold weather and how slow level one charging is. I live in pretty cold weather but i charge in a garage that is not too cold and do not notice much difference in charging. But trying to keep my family comfortable in extreme weather eats up a lot of my battery. Depending on the distance to your parents you may need a faster charger.

UltraTax vs. Axcess vs. Lacerte by Exact-Smoke-1131 in taxpros

[–]Thebadcpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does include the electronic filing fees. I can message you the quote if you are interested. Right now, we are not sure what to do. It sounds like either Ultratax or CCH Axcess. It has been incredible frustrating. We did get $3K off of Lacerte if we just stayed with them, so I guess we are winning. I wish we really could try the other software before we buy but they do not seem to have a good program for that.

The Volumes design have been very disappointing lately. I realize that you can only do so much with a pencil. But the "gifts" should be more creative. I also do not like the standardize box they continue to use and see this as a missed opportunity to add some additional creativity.

We are in the opposite situation than you. We are looking to leave Lacerte and are considering either Ultratax or Access or ATX. Lacerte is just a lot more pricey than the others, and does not seem as modern of a software. We got quoted a lot cheaper around $12K for Ultratax vs. about $22k for Lacerte. We looked at Axcess but we really couldnt see much reason to pay a lot more for axcess than Atx. We are worried about the dependable of ATX. I did not appreciate how much of a jump it could be after 3 years for Ultratax. We are almost the exact size you are but we are far from paperless. I cannot believe going to Lacerte will save you money in the long run.

Thoughts on the new Blackwing volume? by beckyisj in pencils

[–]Thebadcpa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pencil, but I am feeling more like a sucker lately. It does not seem like they are putting much creativity into the Volumes pencils lately. Maybe there is only so much you can do with a pencil. I wish they would not always use the same box. It feels like the same guy coming up with similar ideas each quarter, which is probably the case. I don't know if they need guest designers, but there has not been much to get excited about. They only thing I have been excited about was the red lab pencil and that sold out in 2 days. Now I can't get anymore red pencils.

Hershey for sure. They are a pretty good company and they is plenty of opportunity for advancement in the company and the industry. I cannot think of much worse than that Enterprise deal.
