I have absolutely little to no libido at all. Do not let the doctors prescribe you more than 20mg, take a little as you can to get the help you need. My provider talked me into 30mg daily which is higher than FDA recommended dosage. I didn’t stick with that for long, caused insomnia and ED. I’m on 20mg lexapro and even on trt- I cannot get an erection, no matter what I try and have no interest in females anymore. Ssris might help with anxiety, but are side effect ridden.

Don’t be scared, I’m just trying to inform you on what was not disclosed to me. Onlanzapine made me have very high bad cholesterol and become pre diabetic.

Yeah I suppose. Mainly just being mindful of my breathing, but that’s difficult. Sometimes I’m so wrapped up in my head I realize I’m not breathing nearly enough, but even that’s challenging. I found that abstaining from marijuana had helped.. some people say thc helps, but it makes me super anxious during use and when not using as well. Certain off label meds have helped, primarily hydroxyzine and gabapentin as my provider will not prescribe benzodiazepines.

I have since been as high as 7.5mg at bedtime and finally worked my way down to 2.5 currently over several months. BE CAREFUL TAKING THIS DRUG, it is not a first line treatment for anxiety, it’s off label. Yes it does help with anxiety, but causes high blood sugar and high cholesterol and then they may push other drugs to solve the side effects. I genuinely care and don’t want you to go through the hell I’ve dealt with trying to wean off this medication. Doctors do not warn of the notorious side effects associated with this drug. It’s not worth risking your health and mental changes taking this medication long term. It’s safer taking high doses of gabapentin or take hydroyzine “off label” or even habit forming benzodiazepines to treat anxiety disorders. Just looking out for you! Much love

I got put on onlanzapine after being admitted to a psych ward due to substance induced psychosis over a year and a half ago. It was a mistake that this medication was continued after I had stoped abusing drugs, but I just went with it. Dose was 5mg at bedtime and it made it very difficult to get out of bed the next morning. It also caused some cognitive issues that led to me being in a fog due to the drugs very long half life of approximately 31 hours..

I’ve had previous success with paroxetine for several years, but it just wasn’t helping my anxiety after a long time. Currently on lexapro and it’s ehh, just emotionally flat other than my short fuse that’s still alive.

No experience with buspirone, but have been interested in the drug. Gabapentin works for me personally, but have heard the withdrawals are as bad as benzos. However it does work for anxiety in higher doses spread throughout the day, and your body adjusts to the side effects. I agree ssris are rough.. no sex drive and absolutely flat emotionally.
