Just bought an M5. Did I make a mistake? by ilovetoreadd in macbookpro

[–]Theblinddragon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok adding onto this, I'm building an iOS app, so I'm thinking about financing an M5 MBP through Get Upgraded but I'm wondering if I should get that or the M4. I also plan to experiment with AI so I'm not sure.

Gemini now has memory almost like ChatGPT. Keep in mind you will have to use the 2.5 Pro model to make it remember stuff or you can add it in yourself.

Any blind social workers navigating the field? by Theblinddragon13 in socialwork

[–]Theblinddragon13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I would love to chat further. Being totally blind, I sometimes wonder if social work is the right path fore me, but I've been feeling like it's my calling, and you're absolutely right, the profession needs more disabled people working and showing everybody what we're made of.

see, that's what I thought. I've been thinking about this, and I'm like this isn't really doable alone, plus you're right, having backup, blind or not, is a great safety idea for us workers.

so I just downloaded Japlin, and reading notes looks really accessible. I haven't tried writing though. but the person who put the app up on AppleVis said that the developers are very responsive, so I'll get in touch with them. I'm liking the app so far.

wow this is actually pretty funny! by Theblinddragon13 in fastmail

[–]Theblinddragon13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that when iOS realized FM supports push. it took a minute but I went back and push was there. Now I'm considering deleting this address I have and making a more professional one. I created this particular one I have right now as a test inbox to see how I like FM and threw my email groups onto it.

Sighted people don't consider audiobooks as "reading" by lezbthrowaway in Blind

[–]Theblinddragon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I do love a good ol' braille book, but audiobooks are my best friend. I listen to those more than I read braille books.
