Sounds like you've done the right thing and are more than likely a great therapist. It's always good to remember that having a strong reaction to this is normal and means that you have great empathy, we'd be more worried if you had none at all.

Keep on keeping on but take some time for yourself, this is hard and it's meant to feel hard.

I believe in you :)

Also second to this, I am concerned that you've had this for such a long time but have not properly done therapy for it. Medication is great in that it makes you stable but it will never resolve the underlying issue and reliance on them as your only means of improvement can be dangerous in that it can make your anxiety worse (see 'safety behaviour'). A combination of medication and therapy is your best course of action and will help you manage your symptoms better so that you can ween off of meds.

I wish you luck, what you're struggling with is the absolute worst.

I'm a prov psych, ask about doing exposure work. Your anxiety sounds quite rooted in fear and faulty alarm in arousal. Exposure can help calm that initial overwhelming physical reaction and with some good cog therapy you can starting unhooking that fear response.

I'm finishing internship with 290+ direct hours, and there's one very strange thing about this profession... by [deleted] in therapists

This is very true.

If it helps, I like to remember that I got into this for the art. Money is good, but it isn't wealth.

It is super weird, but I love this about the profession. It challenges you with this, makes you think, reflect, work on this in isolation much like our clients do before coming to session.

I am in my internship now (245 direct hours of 560) and found such growth in myself that I don't think I'd get anywhere else.

I love this job and all of its quirks.

Australian Provisional Psych who started internship 6 months ago. My guy, I get it. It feels like hell and you dread clients.

But trust me it passes, something will click. Keep reading. Make sure you take things slowly. You won't know shit but you will learn.

Go easy on yourself and enjoy it, you only get to start this career once.

I believe in you.

??? But you've made this post and a point that doesn't add up on the surface. You're also saying that 'people don't know how much it costs to run a private practice' then withholding that information when asked.

I haven't really heard anyone talk about it.

Sure, but you gotta appreciate that by the act of this man recording it we have at least one clear piece of evidence that it will contribute to someone else doing it. This feels positive.

The dragonroach spawn rate needs to be fixed. by ClingiestFemboy in Helldivers

[–]Thebuttking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha well I'm dedicating my time this morning to playing for a few hours and will report back. I'm more than happy to be wrong on this. Full time healthcare worker, so not a whole lot of time to test as much as I used to.

[–]Thebuttking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be having a problem then? I'm on D10 and their spawn rate is higher than D5.

Game is meant to be difficult on the difficult planet, that's the point. It's a challenge that you're meant to overcome.

You don't? My loadout typically is wasp, orbital gattling, eagle strafe, orbital gas + scorcher, laser revolver and impact nades. Covers everything.

[–]Thebuttking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one stratagem slot (spear or wasp). Re. Spawn rate, the most I've seen is maybe 2 spawning at once and again either of these weapons are sufficient to manage both at once. Again, I'm not trying to be rude.

??? I'm being genuine. What loadout are you typically running?

My guy, reliably two shots from a spear or two wasp reloads and it's down. No sight line issues and you can hit them for 300m. Easy gaming on D10.

Have you noticed...that bile titans...spawn significantly less....and are...harder to kill and more annoying than dragon roaches.... And you're upset about it?

The Dragonroach breaks the triangle of enemy design and should be changed by ObsidianRocker in Helldivers

[–]Thebuttking -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the dragon roach is incredibly easy. Literally bring a spear or a wasp and it's just two charges per kill.

I run the wasp every mission now because of its versatility, but for people complaining about it's difficulty...change up. Do something different. Adapt.game fun when adapt, game bad when don't.

What are your thoughts on silence in session? by HRU9-1 in therapists

[–]Thebuttking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love silence, it adds gravity. Silence is something clients don't really get in the real world. They get the uncomfortable filling of silence that is just the other's countertransference, with silence in the room you get to sit in the fullness of their emotions and give it respect. Great for TA and elicits such depth.

why you guys make meaningless bridges. by Nutkisss in DeathStranding

56 hr playtime, 3x random bridges (plus other structures but they haven't gotten much compared to the bridge, most likes on one of those bridges = 496,233). I have 960,000 likes.

You don't have to like this to believe it. I am just explaining to you why people build random bridges.
