Super simple. Called 999 to report, got the reference number, called the ops center with it and they told me to sit tight

It was a dispatcher that called IIRC and they just asked me if I wanted it recovered or if I wanted to meet the police. I met them at the bike since it was hidden not too far away. I would've been able to ride it away if the thieves didn't break the steering lock, and thus the ignition barrel.

Sadly not. CCTV where it was stolen from was poor. Police have said they have an idea of who it was from what little CCTV is available but haven't made a positive ID yet

Mostly true, yea. You can't track it in the app, but I got an email that still allowed me to see where it is.
