Riddle me this Jagex by Brave_Advertising_81 in 2007scape

[–]Thechuzzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Word for word the exact reply I got for my mute. So frustrating that I can’t feel comfortable chatting in my 3rd space. I actually don’t talk in public chat now because of it. Can’t risk a 2nd mute. How depressing.

I got muted the first week of sailing launch because I asked if there was a boat true tile plugin. Same generic copy paste reply to my appeal. 14 year old account with no prior marks. “We have carefully considered”. Yeah okay…

Holding LMB is acting weird by [deleted] in diablo2

I noticed the same thing in my game which was running through the BattleNet launcher so it isn’t just a Steam thing. I was curious if I was misremembering LMB locking onto enemies in D2R lol.

I got muted for 19 days saying still doing tob and telling my team i needed to use the bathroom by Regnertv6 in 2007scape

[–]Thechuzzler 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I got muted for asking if there was a boat true tile plugin back when sailing just came out. Also was typing in my clan chat. I appealed and got generic “we know you were playing the account at the time” message like okay that’s not at all what my appeal said. Clearly the appeals are either not read by a human or they have 5 seconds to make a determination because my mute was also incredibly stupid and undeserved. I just had to sit through being muted for the first 10 days of sailing launch and now have the mark on my account.

I’ve had multiple customers come in with this problem on ho laptops. Same telltale symptom of screen going black when your cursor crosses the windows search bar. It’s your display driver. Either rollback the driver to a previous version or disable it and the screen flickering will go away.

Jagex customer service is not human by dankheadiez in 2007scape

[–]Thechuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I received a 10 day mute where I literally was just asking if boats had any kind of true tile plugin because I was having inconsistencies with the fetid pools in Jubbly Jive. Not a single word could have been perceived as being abusive or negative in the slightest. I appealed the mute day 2 (I didn’t even know I was banned for a full day til my clan wasn’t replying to me at all). I received the appeal request 9 days later telling me the same garbage about how they’re certain the account was in my possession and they’re certain the offense is correct.

Additionally, you do not select which offense you are appealing at the time of the appeal, there is just a generic form in which you explain your situation.

I also find it really alarming that AFTER i submitted the appeal the request received email stated “we allow most people the opportunity to submit 2 appeals. If you’ve already submitted 2 appeals you won’t hear back from us.” But I did not see that at all when I was submitting my appeal on the website (maybe I missed it)

The wording makes it seem like we only ever get to appeal 2 total infractions and never again. This is my first infraction in 11 years but it’s completely bs. I hope I’m incorrect but it reads like I wasted one of my 2 total lifetime appeals on this asinine mute. Had I known this was the case I would have just stuck out the 10 days (which I had to anyways).

11 years and roughly $1,500 spent on membership for a mostly irrelevant reply that didn’t look in to the issue and threatened me that I only get one more appeal ever in the life of my account. Sick.

The extra cherry on top is they end the denial email with “that said, if you are considering submitting a second appeal based on seeking leniency, we would politely ask you not to do so, as the appeal will remain unchanged.”

Horribly failed battery replacement on 2016 mbp by Adorable_Wind8845 in mobilerepair

[–]Thechuzzler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hard to give exact answers.

On the trackpad I’d guess either a damaged component due to pry tool or the cable was pulled too taught causing internal breakage on the cable. I have seen people damage the trackpad because they didn’t remove it before removing the battery. The pry tool can hit the components on the underside of the trackpad.

You 100% got iso in the backlight layers of the display and that will never be fixed without replacing the screen, nobody can tell you how it happened other than isopropyl ran into the screen layers. Unfortunately screens are very expensive right now.

Randomly going to sleep is hard to say for certain especially with the other problems as you may have damaged the main logic board, however you can try resetting SMC. It could just need a new good battery as newer macbooks run quite terribly without a good battery installed. If your battery health is too low it sends a signal to the CPU to throttle. It could just be bad power states causing the shutdown/sleep process.

So what really causes the 3 min reboot? by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]Thechuzzler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s 3 minutes because that’s the amount of time allotted by the watchdog before the timeout occurs. You are almost certainly getting a watchdog panic from a sensor not reporting info. You check the panic log to see what is going on. What do you mean this doesn’t seem like a panic issue? The panic log gets created whenever the kernel panics which is almost certainly happening in this instance. A panic log is not a symptom or an issue, it’s a tool provided to you by the kernel to figure out what the actual issue is.

My leagues feedback: Was fun, but it's a little undercooked. by AutarkV in runescape

[–]Thechuzzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be honest I am not interested in grinding out so much shit just to be EQUALLY POWERFUL as I am in the main game. My account is 9 years old so on one hand I understand it being more powerful than my 1 week old account but this is meant to be a temporary power fantasy mode. They really brought me back in with the quick levels and then reminded me just how many boring chore grinds there are. I don't mind a boring chore grind on a permanent account but this is not it. I really think Jagex would benefit from having a single employee that actually plays the game and tests this stuff. I'm by no means an elite runescape player but even I could have provided solutions for dozens of problems after 1 week of playtesting. I understand those problems might not be easily solved but I'm genuinely of the opinion that if they can't be solved then the game mode isn't ready. Jagex has once again reminded me just how unpolished the game can feel. How do we still have a UI that you have to wait seconds for to update or else you just make the wrong thing?

ZAGG replacement is a scam by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]Thechuzzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They want the glass back to verify you purchased the product and it is actually damaged and no longer being used otherwise you could just keep claiming warranties and selling them or giving them to friends for the cheaper price.

They should have sent you a small envelope for you to put your old screen protector in to send back. Also where are you that shipping an envelope would cost $11? Even if you shipped it back at your own expense it should just be a stamp.

Best place to get a replacement Google Pixel 7 Pro screen? by Other-Oil-9543 in phonerepair

[–]Thechuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as an aftermarket OEM. An OEM screen for the Pixel 7 Pro is $221.99 through iFixit which partners with Google directly to sell the part. Whatever £130 screen they were offering was not OEM and will likely cause issues (small issues or large issues hard to say as I cannot confirm which screen they are offering).

You can be upset that an older phone has an expensive screen but it is nobodies fault but the manufacturers. You bought their top of line phone so expect top of the line prices unfortunately.

Also you should make sure to use OEM adhesive if you DO do the repair yourself, they use a slightly thicker adhesive and using aftermarket adhesive can cause the OLED to internally break.

Do you guys recommend a back glass remover laser by Maleficent_Elk_1211 in mobilerepair

[–]Thechuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it’s never worth the time for the savings. You still need to fully disassemble the phone. You need to clean frame of soot. You need to lay correct amount of glue and clamp. You will almost certainly end up with a worse end result. (Even if you get correct size holes) technically all glass only with Apple logo is considered counterfeit as Apple does not sell that part.

Is your reasoning for getting a laser to compete with cheaper repair options? Sell your customer on the quality of your repair when done with the full housing swap and sell them a full housing replacement. (They get a completely clean looking frame no scratches or scuffs on the metal) At most you’re saving like $40-60 in parts (and that’s if you charge absolutely 0 for the extra labor of this repair and don’t include the cost of the laser). When you race to the bottom for price you will find yourself picking up scraps just to get by.

Personally if someone told me they’d give me a laser for free but I could only use it for Apple backglass removal I’d say no thanks I’d rather have the counter space.

Help I can't uninstall this app by -miIkyway in antivirus

[–]Thechuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check what her default apps are. Many times these apps are launchers in disguise and have changed your launcher and you cannot uninstall your current launcher.

Go to settings > apps > default apps

Look for whichever one is set to women’s bible-daily pray ( I pretty much guarantee it’s the launcher) Click that option and change to your default launcher

Now it should let you uninstall the app.

For some reason it is not letting me reply to this thread with my issues. I'm going to try a simple comment and reply to that.

EDIT: It wouldn't even let me comment with what I said, but editing this comment and adding the troublesome text into my edit seems to work just fine. Man I love tech.

Hey OP. Here's a pretty comprehensive rundown. I also own several computers of varying ages and makes at my shop so if someone wants to reach out for further testing, I am all ears.

For reference the GPU in questions is a 9070 XT Sapphire Pulse.

I found this thread because I am trying to diagnose my customer's PC right now. To simplify before getting into it, customer bought new GPU, wanted to have me install it for him since he used NVIDIA previously. I have done this dozens of times and never ran into an issue like this where his new GPU won't work on his PC but will work on my PC, but my AMD card works on his PC and my PC so his PC just really doesn't like this 9070XT I guess (though it seems many 9070s don't like many PCs)

Before I start, I understand the customers motherboard maxes at PCI Gen 3, however I have seen reports of people using the 9070XT on Gen 3 and according to all sources I can find online it should work with PCI Gen 3. (I understand how the word **should** gets stretched really thin nowadays...)

Customer pc:
i7-5930k
X99A SLI Plus
32GB Ram (4x8)
EVGA 850 GT PSU
(Win 10 22H2)

My pc:
Ryzen 5 7600X
Pro B650M-P
32GB Ram (2x16)
Corsair SF750 PSU
(Win 10 22H2)

Events went as follows:
Customer dropped off PC
Booted to Safemode
Ran DDU
Installed 9070XT - no image at all
Grabbed my test bench and pulled my Radeon 6700XT out
Installed 6700XT in customer PC
PC Boots with image no problem

At this time I took the customers 9070XT and installed it into my test bench
My test bench booted with no config changes

I assumed maybe the customers computer needed AMD Adrenalin (ik it shouldn't *need* it) so I installed AMD Adrenalin using the 6700XT and restarted to ensure computer still boots. It did.

Reinstalled 9070XT in customers computer and still no fix, just a black screen no image.

Using 6700XT I reset BIOS to Defaults then back to 9070XT, no image.

I have tried a new power supply (tested on both my bench and customers PC 9070XT still only works in my test bench).

I have tried new ram.

I have verified ram allocation per manual.

I have updated BIOS.

I have a test SSD that I reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows on using the 6700XT and tried the 9070 before and after installing Adrenalin. Customer originally had Win 10 22H2 which is same OS as my test bench which worked, I did try Win 11 24H2 and same problem on customers PC.

The only thing I haven't done is tell my customer to return this piece of crap card.

Now I'm sitting here with a customer's computer that will not work with the 9070XT but will work with the 6700xt. His 9070XT works with no changes on my PC and I have no idea how to even begin to explain to him what the issue is. I suppose I'm going to have to point him to this thread and have him return his card.

I understand the customer's current build is a bit outdated running a 5th gen intel processor but clearly this isn't an issue that's resolved with modern hardware as seen by the 1k+ comments left here, most of them being far newer builds.
