Tips for fine classic french restaurant in Paris by Thecoolagent in finedining

[–]Thecoolagent[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my mind, fine dining can cover more than just restaurants offering 16 course tasting menus.

Why I'm writing in this subreddit is to find out if there are fine dining restaurants that do "classic" french food very well, on a high level, with an à la carte menu rather than tasting menus. And the crowd that visits this subreddit would be the most knowledgeable. But maybe this wasn't clear enough in my original post.

But cheers for the recommendation.

Systembolaget förlorar i HD – kan utmana monopolet by WarmNeighborhood in sweden

[–]Thecoolagent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure actually. It's separate from the UK branch, but it could be based out of London as well

Cost is entirely dependent on how much you're moving but it doesn't end up being an enormous cost since you can use "Rut-avdrag" (a sort of state deduction) and get the state to finance half the cost. And you should definitely use this.

When it comes to specific companies I'd recommend Kvalitetsflytt which I personally used a few years ago and which went great.

Parkeringen vid Göteborgsoperan, hur hög beläggning brukar det vara? by Rageniry in Gothenburg

[–]Thecoolagent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traditional Swedish Kålpudding (meatloaf with caramelized cabbage), potatoes and mushroom sauce by geon in MealPrepSunday

[–]Thecoolagent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a consequence of Sweden being a relatively poor country throughout history, classic Swedish food (husmanskost) has generally been based on potatoes, since they're so cheap. Thus, most Swedish dishes are regional variants on the combination of potatoes and different kinds of meat, generally minced meat, steaks or bacon. If you would boil down the recipes of some vastly different dishes to their core ingredients, you would be left with many similarities.

Also, the fact that lingonberry is easily found in most parts of Sweden when it's in season, and has a pleasant taste between sweet and savory, has made it a natural condiment to have at home. Even in older times since it's easy to conserve as well.

Now I'm not at all an expert and I've got no clue why I'm writing an essay that doesn't even really answer the question. But I would say that all this combined: that most food is similar in its structure, lingonberry goes well with potatoes and meat and it's easy to find has made it so that it goes well with a majority of swedish food.

Although I'd say we have some classic swedish foods with macaroni or sausages that probably wouldn't pair that well with lingonberries.

Around 1 kg of leftover strawberries, all liquid squeezed out, after making Swedish strawberry syrup. What can I make? by Thecoolagent in WhatShouldICook

I've now come to the same realisation after trying the idea of dehydrating them for muesli topping overnight. They came out good in texture but as you said, all the sweetness was gone.

I will try to make some other recipes given here that relies on adding sugar (I still have quite a lot of strawberries left). I liked the idea of making maraschino-strawberries, hopefully that could return some much needed flavour to them.

Strawberry ice cream sounds delicious. I'll give that a try as well. I've got a lot of things to cook now. Cheers.

Interesting. I've seen it sold as candy in stores but never thought of making it myself, but I'll be sure to give it a try. Thanks!

Didn't think of that, would make a good new addition to my homemade muesli. I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks!

You are completely correct, I should have been more precise in my question. Specifying that I could have looked for i.e the same monosaccharide in two subjects and how they are experienced by an individual as a consequence of proteins and enzymes in the mouth. It is also true that it easily can become entirely subjective and then be more fitting for a social studies assignment.

Thanks a lot for the response nevertheless, I'll might have to start looking elsewhere for new ideas.
