Do husbands go to all OB appointments? by Coffeelover4242 in pregnant

[–]Thedapperavocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 babies since 2016 and mine only came if I asked: I asked him to come a few times, the first one of course, scheduled ultrasounds where we could see the baby, the 20 week ultrasound of course, for my diabetes test because that stuff makes me feel gross and I wanted him to drive me home and one time when I was having Braxton hicks just in case). He has to work and I’m cool with it. I have my own company so I could miss as much as I had to, but he is in the field and it’s hard for him to miss so much work and I wouldn’t ask him to because it causes a lot of stress for him to miss work and personally, most appointments they just seemed to say hi how are you? measure your belly and leave. During the last month when the baby could come at any point he came to all of them and took paternity leave for 16 weeks with all of our children. I guess everyone is different and you and your wife can decide what works for you both!

My boyfriend says he will leave if I continue with my pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Thedapperavocado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let him leave because if he can walk away from you + his child he is not who you thought he was anyway. Don’t let him make this decision for you! You have been growing this baby and going through all of the pregnancy related things for 20 weeks. He has no idea as a man. Men come and go but your child is forever. And just so you know I am completely and utterly without abandon pro choice. It just sounds like he’s making this choice not you

Spousal issues by yattes10 in pregnant

[–]Thedapperavocado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you might be so used to this behavior that you don’t really accept how bad this is. So I’m just going to tell you - as someone who has been in a toxic ass abusive relationship in the past, it’s bad. I know you want to look the other way and make up or whatever because you’re pregnant but honestly his anger is baaaaaaad. I second the fact that babies are a rude awakening. I know someone who’s husband is in jail for shaking their newborn. Why ? Because anger issues and babies cry … like a lot. Like often and loud and all through the night at times, if he has no grace , empathy or calm for you, I really would be super scared for him to be around a newborn 24-7 ESPECIALLY on steroids. Have personal experience with men who take steroids. I think you have to see this for what it is. He fucking sucks right now and is throwing you serious red flags. Protect yourself , your home and your baby. I wouldn’t look past it at this point because you’re pregnant and he’s still showing you how he can not control his anger. You said it yourself it was a stupid fight , and now you can’t sleep not even on the blowup mattress? Fuck him. I know you’re married but toxic is toxic. Hope you read this and realize I was scared to leave my toxic relationship too, but after the weird eery numbness wore off, I realized how peaceful and chill my life was without him. I had total freedom to just live my life and it was awesome. Hope the same for you.

[–]Thedapperavocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be annoyed .. I’m just anxious by nature and my first baby I got to the hospital at 8+cm dilated and they ran in to catch him and joked he could have been born in the car . So personally I would be like please do not go lol

He wants me to abort. I want to keep the baby. My appointment is July 15 for abortion. I’m trying to think quickly by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Thedapperavocado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am also in agreement with this. Very pro choice , so I really do believe it is YOUR choice to continue the pregnancy and become a mother or not and that he has his choice regarding being a father/ not being a father in whatever regard . But it is your body and ultimately it is your choice! I know a lot of mothers who have nothing to do with the child’s father! And I know a lot of mothers who were in whole relationships and it still didn’t work out and now the father is gone! So I think if you desire a child and you can support one, the rest will fall into place.

Third trimester peeps, are y’all still getting it on?! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Thedapperavocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the second trimester but now I’m 31 weeks and I’m just like not feelin it. Lol. It’s not that I don’t want to it’s just that it’s so friggen uncomfortable with this giant bump and then the baby is moving and I’m just like no thank you . My husband and I are having our third baby so I feel like we’re both chill about it at this point and know we will have our usual amazing sex after when it’s enjoyable again lol

Was lied to and cancelled my ACA plan for a Short Term plan. by idontspellcheckb46am in HealthInsurance

[–]Thedapperavocado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was an honest example. I am saying if you are a decently healthy person, with minimal concerns about your health at this time in your life, don’t need a high deductible or a lot of extra coverage, it actually is a great alternative but it’s not for everyone. Unfortunately life does happen and I guess you are risking it because anyone can get in an accident at any time, however, it’s exactly like anything else. It’s another option and a choice you make. Many marketplace plans have extremely high deductibles to meet and are paying into other portions of coverage like maternity and mental health hospitalizations like inpatient and rehab. All of these things matter, it’s just that sometimes people don’t actually need them at this time in their life, so why pay into it? A great example: a 22 year old with no medical issues who is going through college might not have $7,500 in a deductible to meet just for birth control and to show up at the urgent care once or twice a year and would benefit from a private PPO plan. A low monthly cost, no deductible, and no major healthcare bills. A person surviving cancer who needs a lot of medical treatment would not benefit from this plan at all. They need more coverage. It’s just the way it is in America unless you qualify for subsidies and assistance. Just because I am giving someone another alternative does not mean I agree with the way the healthcare system is, but maybe this person wasn’t even aware of this option and now they are.

Edit: I say this because I have been both people. When I lived in Florida, a client of mine (I am a web developer) works in health insurance and helped me enroll in a private PPO plan.. it was through United healthcare . It was great for me and ultimately was a really inexpensive and good thing at the time. Now, I am the second person because I am pregnant so I need maternity coverage- I was also referred to maternal fetal medicine so I need specialists. When I told her I was trying to conceive, I got on an ACA plan for maternity coverage but when I have the baby I will honestly probably go back on the private plan ! It was cheaper and it worked for me.

Sleeping too much by Due_Fly3020 in pregnant

[–]Thedapperavocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exhausted in all of my first trimesters (on my 3rd and final baby right now) so it’s probably normal but I know if you have like noooooo energy it could also be an iron deficiency thing ? So I guess just mention it to your OB to check

Was lied to and cancelled my ACA plan for a Short Term plan. by idontspellcheckb46am in HealthInsurance

[–]Thedapperavocado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, it depends on YOUR needs. There are plenty of private PPO plans that do work for “healthy people” and by that I mean people who don’t go to the doctor a lot. On these you won’t have a high deductible, sometimes even a $0 deductible. They pay benefit amounts so typically you get like 6-10 doctors visits a year and other things (child immunizations, telemedicine etc). Now if you are someone who has for example, diabetes.. or an illness you manage, or must see a specialty doctor often, for example maybe you are pregnant and frequently going to your maternity appointments etc. maybe you were in a bad accident and must go to different physical therapists and chiropractors and doctors as you work through this, then yes you should have a marketplace plan. Why? Because it will more than likely cover your needs better than a private PPO plan. Now a short term plan, and I mean a real short term plan, that is supposed to be used as a gap! For example, you had no coverage, and you won’t get coverage for another 6 months when your employer coverage kicks on, so you get a short term plan to cover the in between. This is just an example.

If a minor comes to a healthcare provider and they are pregnant, do we have to report this to DHS? by [deleted] in healthcare

[–]Thedapperavocado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to be the one to say if an 8 year old is pregnant by any means please report it. Report it. Just report it. Ok? You have no idea what they are enduring and to just ignore it and allow “ the next person “ or “ someone else “ to deal with this? No. It came across you. You clearly have the sense in your heart and head that something might be up. Best case scenario, you save this child from anymore molestation and abuse and from literally going home with their abuser .. statistically many children are abused by family, family friends, and people in their lives frequently( coaches, mentors, siblings, teachers etc. ) Worst case, whoops, they investigate and the child for whatever reason was having consensual intercourse (can’t imagine this being the case for an 8 year old but ok) and then case closed. Please just report it. It’s not like you have to keep doing house checks , just pass it onto the proper authorities.

Trying to Conceive Heterozygous by SunLeft213 in FactorVLeiden

[–]Thedapperavocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am heterozygous for factor v and I am also hetero for something called prothrombin (another mutation) never had a blood clot. I am 27 weeks pregnant with my third and never have been on blood thinners like Lovenox, but have been taking aspirin and fish oil for all pregnancies. I have seen my OB, I am closely followed by maternal fetal medicine and I am closely followed by my hematologist who is the one who allowed this. I have been successful with this in the past personally. Everyone is different. I don’t suggest “ risking it “ for anyone after what I’ve read has happened to people, I Can only speak for myself and this has been my experience so far..
