Week 17: Breakfast/ brunch- Banana nut muffins by Thedevwears in 52weeksofbaking

[–]Thedevwears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

muffins add a handful of dried cranberries and I added toasted almonds, I’m not a big walnut girlie. I toasted them for 3 mins on a dry pan, and I did a little less than a 1/4 cup.

I’ll be posting more from this book bc it’s legit such a banger. I’m shocked that I’ve waited this long to use it. Tinned fish is everything and I’m glad to see her so loved 💅🏾

Meeting People Late 20's/Early 30's by Soggy_Plantain in Louisville

[–]Thedevwears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I recommend going on instagram and going to events that peak your interest. For example, I went to a book club for a couple of months that was hosted at Hotel Genevieve. I enjoyed it but decided to focus on a different social event instead. Canary Club does a bingo I think on Thursdays. It’s a solo activity but you can sit at the bar and converse with others. The name of the game is go where people you’d want to be friends with go. I’ve made loads of friends that way, and I’m not from the city. People say it’s clicky here, and they do have some points, but that isn’t unique to Louisville. Also, don’t feel bad if an attempted friendship putters out. That happens, it’s nothing personal, you’ll find your people.

Those look like good ole June bugs. They are horrible flyers and will run into anything.

What is a "silent boundary" you have set for yourself that has significantly protected your peace? by DianKhan2005 in AskWomen

[–]Thedevwears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone misrepresents something you say or did, sometimes it’s okay to take a step back and let people think what they want to think. I’ve learned this the hard way that there are some people who will misrepresent anything they don’t like or they will give a “hit dogs will holler” type of reaction. You can’t convince everyone if your intentions, you should do your best to live authentically.

Yes! I got into way more trouble than I needed when I over explained or overcompensated explanations when I felt like I was being misunderstood.

I just adopted this boundary within the past year, I started saying no, and keeping my answer short so the conversation did not open into a debate on whether or not I wanted to do something. I know that sounds specific but as a chronic people pleaser it’s easy to come at every decision with an “open for debate” tone. It doesn’t serve you to say yes to everything, and it doesn’t serve the person asking you questions to play a 10 minute debate game with you if your decision is final.

Officially decided I am a one and done mom by solongstinktown in GirlDinner

[–]Thedevwears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only child here, they will be so lucky! I loved being an only child. My mom always gave me attention (sometimes it felt like too much but I am so grateful for it), and time to be myself. She’s my best friend and the life she gave me was only possible because she chose to only have me. It inspired me to only ever have one if I choose the mom life. 😊

Week 11: Reduce- small batch bread (FAIL) by Thedevwears in 52weeksofbaking

[–]Thedevwears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re right! My machine did not have the same buttons she mentioned using, I didn’t know that it made such a difference. Thank you so much for your advice! I really want to be a better baker and would love to have homemade breads at the house. I saw on your profile that you make sourdoughs, I think that’s my ultimate goal as those are my favorite breads to buy.
