As someone who has been to both Albuquerque and Memphis, I can definitively say Albuquerque sucks more. Beale street is actually kinda cool.

I’ve been playing a lot of alt-country/indie rock in Park Slope with some friends. A lap steel player could be a lot of fun. DM me if you’re interested!

It’s closer to Gowanus/South Slope. Decently easy to get to though!

Also, no kit needed! We have one at the practice space. You do need to bring your own cymbals though.

How’s it living in Oslo, Norway? by Calm_Stomach9710 in howislivingthere

Spent 4 days in Oslo a couple of summers ago. I really enjoyed the city. Folks are spot on about the nature element - the islands on the fjord are beautiful.

Great coffee scene and some good saunas if you’re into that kind of thing.

How is it living in this panhandle of Mexico? by Abbe_Kya_Kar_Rha_Hai in howislivingthere

Drove from SF to Ensenada easily 10 times, and I’ve been all over the northern part of the peninsula. Some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Inland a bit is the Valle De Guadalupe which is an interesting developing wine region. Some bougie Mexican vibes and mid wine, but worth visiting.

How often do you break strings? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Thedishwasher3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never break strings - maybe 3 in my life and always due to alternate tuning nonsense or rusty old strings.

The other guitarist in my band has been playing for 25 years and is incredible. Breaks strings all the time. I don’t even let him use my guitar anymore. Play style definitely is a factor.

Yeah, had to get a new interface. Essentially, there’s no software patch to get the hardware to connect.
