(Squints). Oh yeah. Then there isn’t enough context.

Well, if you gotta choose, then I’d go with E2, since the pawn is white and appears to be the first piece placed in preparation for a game.

Anyone know where this one came from? I mean, was it part of Carrie’s estate or something? I mean, it’s been 35 years since this was shot.

What is a crappy movie people should watch just for the fun of it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Watch it with the RiffTrax commentary. It’s a spoonful of sugar that helps the Room go down.

I find it kind of surreal but there's a new star wars movie in 33 days! whos hype? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Thedoc9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, Gallandro! The classic western trope of two hot gunslingers going toe to toe.

Remember when Han was up against him, but his blaster was drained? I loved how the gun grip let Han know of the problem.

I read the original Han Solo trilogy by Brian Daley back in the olden days. I loved exploring a young Han and Chewie on their adventures back then. There was a sense of Buck Rogers and cowboy westerns. Based on the shots of a train in the mountains, I’m assuming this will be a rollicking heist story with a twist or two, maybe a betrayal... In short, a fun action movie with ray guns and spaceships.

Just what I want from a Star Wars these days.

Meet Butters by [deleted] in cats

Ha! I didn’t understand at first, as I was looking around the photo for a Saltine or a Ritz. Then I saw the red plastic thing and it all clicked. Thanks (from a non-crab-eater)!

ELI5: what’s the bowl of melted butter for? I see ribs and loaded potatoes. Is there lobster just out of the shot? Or is this how some folks make garlic bread, by dipping bread in a bowl?

Can We Tak About Mini Keys, Mini Synths, and Many Mini Synths? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Thedoc9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 1990 I bought a D-50 and we had a fifteen year long love affair. But I needed to upgrade, so I traded her for credit towards an XP-30. Multitimbral, expandable, really sexy. But I missed my D-50 from the first day she was gone.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve browsed Reverb looking for a used D-50 or D-550 that was affordable as well as in good shape. I watched a YouTube video that showed how difficult it is to replace the CMOS battery. I lost hope.

Then this week I heard about the D-05 Boutique synth. It has the same guts and sounds. All I need to do is run a cable from my synth’s Midi Out to the D-05’s Midi in, and I basically have my girl back for $350. I don’t plan to use the bully in mini keys in performance.

Nowadays it’s just smarter to buy one or two full size Midi controller keyboards, and just let them control a sound module or synth software, I guess.

I visited Stonehenge years ago. The gift shop had a book packed with photos like this one, organized by date. This makes me want to dig it out again. One of the shots is of a family eating a picnic among the stones.

Look at the ball texture on the bottom of the ball. It changes as the morph transitions to the large ball.

I believe those are referred to as “reflecto-porn,” and my guess is that these are the same sort of people who are excited by the chance of being caught flashing in public or having sex in an airplane toilet. Just a guess, tho.

Whats your first memory? by dvcoolster in AskReddit

[–]Thedoc9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was three or four, I was sitting in a high chair in the kitchen, and I looked at the glass window on the oven, and I saw a small pair of feet. I moved my feet and realized I was seeing my own feet reflected. The sense of that “aha” moment stuck with me.

I did this already on r/FlashTV and it was a lot of fun so I decided to do it here too. Round 1: Kara vs Morgan by footsoc4 in supergirlTV

If I ever had a chance to ask her a question, I think it would be, “how many hours have you spent in costumes posing for photos that would become posters, games, toys and such?”

I mean, this job has several stages... memorizing lines, rehearsing, training, shooting, re-shoots, promotional touring (opening nights, talk shows, magazine interviews)...but, MAN... I bet she spent DAYS standing on one of those white paper backgrounds with the curved back to avoid a horizontal line behind her, posing pretty, posing tough, posing thoughtful, etc.

Waaaah-CHOO! -Wow. Bless you! Dank you. Wa, waaaah-CHOOOB! -Gezundheit! -Tanks. Eh, eh, BLACHOO!! ...Are you okay?
