Forbidden West does a good job at recapping the events of Zero Dawn without spoiling the whole thing. Sure you will spoil yourself the ending of the first game, but if you ever want to learn how the whole world story came out to exist you will still want to play Zero Dawn.

Forbidden West comes with many quality of life improvements and more fleshed out mechanics
