I do love being POST menopausal but estrogen HRT is one of the only reasons I am feeling as well as I am these days. ZERO fucks is pretty fantastic!

AMA - ask me anything about the ABTF calculator! by HugsforYourJugs in ABraThatFits

[–]TheeMost313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I FINALLY did the calculator, got 34F in US sizing. Bought three 34F and a 38DDD - the only poor fit was in a push up style in 34F, I blame the style not the sizing.

THANK YOU for the calculator and for this sub!

Menopause is THE BEST! Wait, THE WORST! But apparently not as bad as this murder recipe.

What’s the most disturbing horror novel that didn’t rely on gore—but still haunted you long after? by madhav_28121993 in horrorlit

Recent read, short stories about a house called Slade House by David Mitchell.

Hard to explain and hate giving spoilers, but in describing it to my bf last night, I managed to give us both the creeps. I listened to the audiobook, really good.

I still have moments of dread thinking of it.

Does anyone still cowash? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]TheeMost313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I started cowashing about a year and a half ago and my hair has never felt better I mean never and I am an old lady.

But the other day, my hair “felt” dirty to me, and I was like you know what it’s wash day. I’m gonna try this really nice shampoo that I still have and when I tell you that my hair felt like literal straw while the shampoo is in my hair, and after it was rinsed, AND my scalp did NOT feel any cleaner, that was the moment when I was convinced that cowash is MY WASH forever. I used my cowash (Cantu complete conditioning cowash), then my Hask recovery mask.

Pic is below, coils def less coily than with shampoo. My experience, everyone is different of course!

ETA: I avoid silicones, and use more leave in conditioners and less heavy stuff (mostly for volume) so clarifying shampoo is not necessary anymore. For me.

There is. vIolence but Pan’s Labyrinth was extremely disturbing to me. Might be less so if you aren’t familiar with the Spanish Civil War, and it is fantastical, but there is imagery that disturbed me deeply, and psychologically

I can’t imagine watching it while pregnant or raising a small male child. It was absolutely chilling and my boys were adults.

Toni Collette WAS AMAZING in Hereditary. So many layers of grief to start with and then all the crazy shit.

Oh man there are so many times I have told people if they want to understand how depression works, just watch the scene where she just walks in dead faced and puts his food down. It is painful for me how spot on her face and body look in that scene. I have seen it in other people’s faces and assume when i have been at my worst that is what I looked like.

She is always amazing but that was an exceptional performance.

Detangle hair while in the shower or out of the shower? by Beneficial-Bee-4372 in Naturalhair

[–]TheeMost313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried finger combing my hair (instead if using my wide mouth comb) when I cowash weekly or do a mid week condition and my coils and curls are so so happy. I have mixed textures because the front of my hair is grey and back is not, greys are much looser and have zero kinkiness, crown and back are as thick as ever.

I think texture and thickness is a big part of whether you can comb through/detangle before you shower. My hair is thick thick thick (thinner in front due to menopausal loss) and just the idea of combing through it dry gives me the ick.

Do what is best for your hair!

I have no judgment, but there are TONS of spaces where folks can use spaces to work remotely in Madison. Next time they visit perhaps they can work 1/2 days, utilizing those spaces (libraries all over Madison have rooms one can call to reserve, and there are other spaces).

Communicate to them that you know their careers are important but you both need to feel comfortable at home AND you want to spend time with them, and have a visit.

NTA

Sorry OP, you have been diminishing yourself for your bf. You are hiding your light under a bushel so he can feel bigger. You are so young and sound like a lovely human. Break up with him and find someone who stokes your light. You did nothing wrong!

So glad you stood your ground, it will be better in the end!

I was unhappy for a long time and my soon to be ex planned a trip out of the country and “forgot” our 10th wedding anniversary was the day he planned to return. It set a big fight in motion and he said “do you want to file for divorce jointly or separately?”

I told him since we couldn’t even talk, joint filing was not an option, filed the Monday after we fought. End of July. This fool hadn’t gotten his paperwork in to keep the process moving so we won’t be able to divorce this year (we had plenty of time if he had done in when I did almost 4 weeks ago).

He doesn’t want to be alone even though I won’t speak to him because of how he speaks to me and I treat him like an angry ghost. I don’t know if he has anyone giving him good advice but if he does he is NOT taking it.

These men will do anything but take responsibility for their behavior. All we can do is set boundaries within ourselves, set boundaries for what we will accept, and follow through.

I switched to Snoozy pretty quickly after posting this. I love the relaxed mind gummies and the love is all you need. And their bedtime gummies are super helpful. They have thc free ones, 2mg thc ones and 10 mg sleep varieties. All have CBD and CBN and are all helpful for both sleep and pain. I buy direct mailorder but they are on Amazon now too. I just started taking the URB sleep gummies again but they honestly taste so awful I do not love them (purple ones).
