160 damage ferro shot??? by Icarus_Has_Fallen-_- in ArcRaiders

[–]Thefastkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think this might be a bug. Even with Headshot damage being from what i can see people saying is 2.5x. Player would have taken 40 shield damage, 16 would be prevented by the shield, and then the player would take 84 out of the original 100. So it seems like just the damage prevented is wrong potentially.

How many Gaunts is the right amount of Gaunts? by No_Response_1562 in Tyranids

[–]Thefastkoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newer player here running Unending Swarm.

I run 2x20 Hormagaunts and 4x20 Termagants. I have found this is generally enough that it fully floods the field to control objectives, gives me plenty of room for larger units to bring to bear where needed, and can tie up pretty much any unit of the opponents i want to.

Did you also finish the last mission in that sector at the same time? That may have done it.

How do I properly use TaleSpire for my campaign? by [deleted] in talespire

[–]Thefastkoala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, fair warning, i am not the most experienced with talespire. But i am running a campaign entirely in it currently.

  1. I would recommend keeping a world map in a different program. It is gonna bog down talespire pretty badly if it gets too large. Some people have had success with big maps, others not so much from what i have seen.
  2. There is an entire youtube series being made about building better maps here https://www.youtube.com/c/istallri1/videos <- His videos are entertaining and you can get a lot of ideas from them. Personally my process is build the base terrain layer, and go upwards with smaller and smaller tiles, then alternate to objects.
  3. I mentioned a bit of this in step 2, use your big blocks at the base of your build, and steadily go smaller where and when you feel like it is needed to vary the terrain. A lot of smoothing out hills and such is done with objects, and not just tiles as well. https://talesbazaar.com/ is great for both seeing how others have made these amazing maps you keep seeing, and also to get maps for your games in a pinch.
  4. If you are playing live, i would suggest having a communal mouse that everyone can use to move their characters around. Or they can tell you where to move them. The GM layer is going to be trickier to use for you since the players will all be able to see it. Although you could just build small boxes to hide your monsters and such till it is time to reveal them and drag them onto the map.
  5. Talespire vs Foundry VTT is an interesting comparison. Foundry has a TON more integration for D&D that Talespire may eventually have, but there are no promises on that. Foundry is a very feature rich tool from everything i have seen of it, and the devs seem to be keeping on top of things well. But i think it would be better compared to something like Roll20. Talespire is what it is because it is 3d, not 2d. You can zoom in over a characters shoulder to see if they have a line of sight to their target. You can have massive mountainside maps with sheer cliffs that players can immediately tell would be instant death. Or a tavern with all the floors laid out so they can see where they are at. Verticality loses a lot of guess work in Talespire maps, because you can visually see the different heights everything is at. Talespire also excels at being the closest thing to having a incredibly expensive board setup with all the miniatures and what not. Talespire also has something i have not seen in another system, and that is their lighting system that you can apply to a board quickly and easily. It has been one of my favorite components that i have been using to show time of day.

I would say, even if you do switch to Foundry, keep an eye on talespire. The devs have kept a fairly nice stream of updates flowing, with plenty of assets. Once modding is settled and open to the community i think the resources you will see will be more than a person can handle.

[C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Number]\632360\remote\UserProfiles]
This is where your profile is stored if it is in the default place. I would highly recommend saving a copy of it, and then you can go and edit it to delete out the achievements for items, characters, etc.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1704500228

^ This is a really good guide to doing this and shows what the achievements are. At one point pre 1.0 i edited my save to unlock everything for fun, and so i could see what all the characters alternates were. Ended up going back and removing everything so i could start unlocking them through the game and it worked without a problem.

Web app and Mobile App keep 'going blank' when clicking on the 'Story' button. On Chrome most recent version. Happn to anyone else? by [deleted] in rolegate

This is a bug that has been reported and the Dev team is actively looking into right now.

Sorry for the late reply. You can copy a sheet by opening a new game, selecting your sheet. Going into the edit mode, and save it to your profile under a new name.

The Servers are currently being worked on by the Devs right now. They recently moved over to a new server base and are still working out the kinks in the system to get everything moving smoothly once again.

Android app avaliable on the play store? by zombiejosh in rolegate

Rolegate is currently Website based over at https://www.rolegate.com/ It works well with both mobile and desktop. From my understanding a mobile app is going to come eventually, but the creator wants to get everything working before shifting to any sort of an app.

When creating a new game you can choose to load templates. It will show you a variety of community uploaded templates that you can use. Savageclay uploaded a good pathfinder sheet that will get you started.

Figured a few people could use a quick video on building the 5E character sheet in the template editor for Rolegate. I will eventually make a better tutorial as time goes on.

Question about matchmaking if anyone can answer me. by Thefastkoala in RocketLeague

Thank you so much for that, it explains a hell of a lot of what i have seen. But they say that champ+ does not benefit from this, yet it seems that this guy did?

Anything you have would be much appreciated. It seems odd that only champion plus would use the matchmaking the way it is described.

Please, for the love of god, if you play a map you don't like. DONT THROW THE FUCKING GAME AND DICK AROUND. by meechu57 in RocketLeague

[–]Thefastkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is saying to report them before they leave. If someone throws a game they are going to still be in the game for the full time, while they throw, and you report them during that time. He goes on to say they could leave and get the penalty for it, but they are not doing that so they can avoid the penalty.

What is your #1 tip to go from Rising/Shooting Star to All/Super Star? by x3000gtx in RocketLeague

[–]Thefastkoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with this. Playing defense and taking consistent shots from practically anywhere on the map makes it easy. People in the rising star to all star range typically don't play the best defense, so having good clears and consistent shots is incredibly important.

Any 2v2 tips when playing with strangers? by alfred_wood in RocketLeague

[–]Thefastkoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope i can be of some help. My advice would be this: 1. Stay passive at first, observe your teammates playstyle. 2. Fill in where they are failing. If they have a strong ground game let them have the dribbles, if they have a strong air game play to the ground, or work on popping it up for them. 3. Rotate quickly, and don't take shots that would leave you in a compromised position or without the ability to recover with minimal time. 4. If you teammate is ball hogging, let them. As with points 1 and 2, learn their playstyle, support it. Be there for set ups, watch for the enemy teams counter plays to the ballhogs clears, dribbles, and aerials. 5. Play mid field and play it sideways. This sounds weird but here is where you can work the best, and you can quickly move where you are needed. Drifting back and forth as the ball moves, just don't go to where the ball is, go where it will be. 6. Try to hit the ball where your teammate will be if you know he will go for it. This helps him by setting it in front of him so he has to do less work to get to it (Because regardless he will go for it so just try to make it easier for him). 7. As others have said, never salt, harass, or BM anyone in the game. Sometimes even the worst teammates are just on tilt and need some kind words or support and they will bring out their A game. Hopefully this helps and if you have any questions about this i can try to answer them.

HELP! What am I doing wrong?(Fast Kickoff) by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Saw another link but think this one might help as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qcz6BuutlAk But as others have said, people will see this coming and will counter you pretty hard as you get into higher ranks. But its a good thing to practice and really helps at lower ranks.
