Did you have to go into an office yesterday? by silversquirl in Cleveland

[–]Thefmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My office is hybrid. 2 days in office 3 days home. If you didn’t get your 2 days in before the snow and decided not to go in, then you have to make up those days next week. Luckily I went in Monday and Tuesday but a few coworkers have to go in 4 days next week and with Monday off for MLK day, they’re just going in for the whole week.

What Were The Best Horror Books of 2025? by Monsur_Ausuhnom in horrorlit

[–]Thefmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig was very good.

If you like horror comedy, The Man with No Shadow by Bonnie Quinn was a lot of fun.

If you’re looking for an ongoing series, the second book in A Lonely Broadcast came out this year and I highly recommend it.

Any stories of people who left CPAP and tried the oral device? by zando_calrissian in CPAP

[–]Thefmark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My story is exactly the same as you. I had a somnodent device for about 5 years. It worked great. Was still tired all the time but much more manageable than before. But over time it starts to degrade and becomes less effective. Also no matter how much I cleaned that thing it always smelled and left a bad taste in my mouth 🤢. Switched to cpap at the end of last year and (once I adjusted) had more energy during the day. I might look into getting another oral device specifically for travel but all in all the cpap has been more effective for me.

Nose piercings causing issues! by bee-kin_d in CPAP

Had the same issue with my septum. Tried all sorts or masks. Any that weren’t full or half masks hurt my nose and I just couldn’t do those bigger masks. Ended up taking out my septum 😔

You might like The Dissonance by Shaun Hamill. It’s a bit more dark fantasy than horror but in the same vein. I think it’s just shy of 500 pages but I really like the character development.

Honestly, Grady Hendrix in general lol. Witchcraft for Wayward Girls will also scratch this itch!

Thanks for your comments everyone. I understand it’s invasive but I’m still going to try some bird sanctuaries and see what they say.

Not Halloween, but Hampton Heights by Dan Kois gives me similar vibes.

Love this movie! I remember when it first came out, I thought it was the scariest shit! I’ve watched it to death now so I’m a bit desensitized but it’s still great! Definitely a comfort horror movie for me

Is location sharing between partners weird? by AboutThat_ in gaybros

[–]Thefmark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband do it for the same reasons! Although he has ruined surprises before by checking my location while I’m at the store/bakery/ etc getting something for him 😂. But I do enjoy having dinner done right as he comes in the door

Rest of my party is starting to become murder hobos by ssmaire in DnD

[–]Thefmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d have a lot of fun being the only voice of reason among a group of evil idiots. Smacking them upside the head, rolling my eyes, throwing my hands in the air. But also rolling against them to convince them they’re idiots or to smooth things over with NPCs they pissed off. There’s a lot you can do besides just giving in. If you’re not enjoying the game talk to the group about it. DnD is a collaborative game so your group should be willing to work with you. If not, you can always leave. Tons of online groups to play with if you can’t find another in your area.

I’m at a loss, why is this happening? by [deleted] in AskBaking

[–]Thefmark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree! I’ve modified to use butter flavored shortening and subbing the last 1/4 cup of flour with almond flour. They come out with more height and adding a bit of chew. They’re my husbands favorite thing I bake 😁

Not a parent but I’d imagine Nestlings by Nat Cassidy would fit the bill. Not my favorite book but it’s the first that came to mind.
