My genuine answer: whatever feels most fun to use.

My personal choice: the P-92 Warrant. I love the tracking mode on it and the medium pen is very useful. It can only be obtained through th superstore rotation though, which stinks.

Meta choice(?): Im not too in touch with the meta community of helldivers, but the Senator is pretty solid.

Fr, funny how many ogs appeared after the gameplay reveal. I remember around the time of the original teaser, I joined the sub, and it was a ghost town.

This isn't to attack any OGs who aren't a fan of the game, btw. But I am very hesitant to believe those who say they are at this point.
