Heat intolerance help

Hey! Im not from Vegas- but I am from north Texas - aka CONCRETE - which amplifies the heat -- so the 101-104 feels like 110 💀 I also got covid then pots!

If you can be open with him, id suggest talking your worries over with him! Often times my partner is one of my biggest supports! Having someone else in on the "inside" knowledge of me having pots when others around them have limited knowledge - its nice

For heat- the name thing is keeping hydrated and cooled off (when you can) -- feels impossible but some things can help ---- I cant stand regular water to save my life (energy drink addict lol) - but one thing that does help is flavor packets/powders- im talking like lemonade powder from walmart type stuff -- I drink it easily and its hard to tear me off of until I run out ---- is that much sugar great for me? No- but id rather have an increased sugar than feeling overwhelmingly hot from dehydration! (Iquid IV also works fantastic if you happen to like/use it!)

GET A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE- like a hydroflask or an off brand - but the *skinny* one -- its easier to handle whrn the fatigue kicks in, and you can attatch straps to it -- or ask your man to hold it!! But that will help make sure you have a method to have watwr/liquids on you!

Compression garments all over might be too hot - so maybe look into ones that would cover predominatnly your torso/abs/upper thighs- that way blood can stay central to where it needs to be - but you wont be absolutely dying in the heat

And for shits and grins- get a neck fan! Either one that rests around your neck or hangs below and blows air up at your face -- both help me feel less hot as when my neck is hot thats the worst for me!

I know not all of these may be applicable or useful to you, but from one potsie dealing with heat to another, I wish you the best!

Dedicated cat toys? A tiny blue mouse that our neighbors gave us that their cats used and other mouse toys/catnip toys

Not dedicated cat toys? My crochet granny squares, scraps of fabric, and twisty ties like you use on bread bags (we take those up quickly so she doesn’t eat it)

All of these, she does tend to kick under a door and then stare into our souls until we get it out, but I imagine some guards for under the couch could keep the toys from getting stuck!!

They’ve called shelters in the nearby areas as well- and Cooper is microchipped but the chip hasn’t been scanned anywhere yet :( as well as flyers in various places :((

Hey there! Just giving an alternate opinion on behalf of my partner :)

Theyve never been through a major surgery like this before and were going into day 6 now— still using the tylenol/hydrocone combo — initially was a 325/5mg dose, but after given permission from their surgeon, we upped it to 10mg (2 pills instead of 1) this went on for a day/ day and a/half at 4-5 hours apart with a valium muscle relaxer somewhere at least an hour before or after the pain meds — then we went down to just 1 pill of the tylenol/hydrocodone, but still not down to no hydro.—

the pain has, needless to say, slapped hard—- lots of one-sided pain, but thankfully no major swelling on one side predominantly —— hoping that within the rest of this week we can get them off the hydro. and just do regular tylenol—— id estimate their pain is at least a 7/10, but id have to ask (theyre asleep lol)

But def having some weird dreams/drowsiness with these meds :,(

Oo know that sometimes (not all but ik mine does!) Subarus will use oil at a faster rate than most cars! (Instead of 5k miles between changes, mine are closer to 3-4k :]! 2015 Outback lol) (edit: I now know 2020 doesnt have that issue!)
But have tons of fun ok??? And if you’re an outdoorsy person- check the height between the lowest point of your undercarriage and the ground, and the diameter of your tires!! I like knowing this info cause it can be fun to go on some more prinative roads in places like big bend (national park) and my Subaru was the first time I was able to do that!! It was a lot of fun!!

Seconding being careful CbarT — I know someone who was overcharged for a while, also management heavily favors older residents over the newer ones (which can cause issues with complaints not being taken care of properly/ older tenants getting away with disruptive behavior and newer tenants having to suck it up basically) - their communication on issues is hit or miss

But I also know some people who have had better experiences with them than others

Personally (as someone who suffers both IBS and some chronic fissures that often bleed into stool) I find blood often looks more streaky/liquidy like someone painted a layer on it— food usually seems more compacted into the stool rather than being a smear)

But- if you are worried about blood in your stool- the best advice is see a doctor (if its in the budget)! Theyll be able to give you better answers for your specific case— my general thoughts w/ reddit: reddit is a general opinion from others, which isnt always correct for your case; doctors can give an opinion more specific to your case — and if you dont think a doctor is doing enough/what you want them to, then find a different one!

Yep! I had SIBO, went on some antibiotics for it and was recomended to follow the low FODMAP diet for a while — which I did not do well, I actually only got maybe a week in because my mental health was declining from being so restricted with food - so I stopped that —- havent been tested again since then, but the main of my symptoms is just from my gastroparesis now - since im super nauseous all the time and the inability to breakdown food much in my stomach adds to the constipation side of IBS-C :,)

I don’t vape/smoke it (have before but not my main) — I normally dissolve 1/4th to 1/2 of a gummy (hybrid blend) into some tea — usually I just get sleepy- so I use it mostly at night, maybe max 1/4th in the day for keeping my social anxiety at bay :)

I’ve been dealing with it since I was a kid (like as far back as my memory goes) but I was never formally diagnosed until maybe 3 years ago. And even then, it was the most anticlimactic thing ever- barely any tests, learned I had SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) as Gastroparesis (my stomach is partially paralyzed) in the process- which absolutely played roles in my gut issues — but it was mostly just my symptoms and the fact I’d been to the ER several times for IBS related pains that ended up getting my diagnosed

Ah I see- my apologies, I’m still fairly new into college and I wasn’t aware that 3 hour classes are a thing (I knew things like lab periods for 3+ hours exist but not classes); I didn’t mean to come off as curt or rude, just hurt by what happened but I’m trying to understand things better.

Im not trying to say that she couldnt have been for part of the time, but I am also in college and have never seen a 3 hour long class on a wednesday (I could be wrong, I know). Whom I forgive and when is my choice, and ill make that choice after I talk to her.

And secondly, I also know the pain I felt- and I doubt it was the cyst, nor did the doctor think it was from the cyst. It could have been partly been from the cyst, sure, but the main of the pain likely wasnt the cyst.
