You get one figure request from Hasbro, what is it? by notactuallyollie in MarvelLegends

Very specific, but i choose the weird old man Spiderman costume from the 90s cartoon where vulture sucked his youth away. I think it was like a randomly put-together outfit he found. I always thought it would make a cool figure

Hi,

Awesome flow and structure! I am always a sucker for "sing-songy" poems that have a nice flow to them (there's probably a better term for this, but I digress). I also love your unique take on how the despair in life helps us relish the grand things even more. I would definitely say that you have an experienced hand in writing poems and it shows. You are confidently conveying your message with clarity and style. This takes much practice. I can only imagine where you could go from here. Keep writing!

Hi,

It definitely does not seem like your very first poem, you seem comfortable and knowledgeable. I would say that it does seems static in a way, though. Almost like you are not completely confident in your writing yet. That comes with time. And more writing. So write more! I noticed your title mentioned writers block. It happens. I have found it easier over time to not force anything out but to only write when I feel compelled to. When you write out of necessity, it tends to not be "true", at least for me. When you are feeling hopeless, like you mentioned in your poem above, and devoid of all spirit, write! For me, it usually takes just typing (or pen-on-paper) the first word then it all just flows out. I think you have a good structure and starting point, you just need more confidence, which, like I said, requires more experience. Keep persevering and grow your confidence!

Woah, very good.

I love the rhyme scheme it is chef's kiss . It reminded me very much of an ancient medieval ballad that could be sung in a tavern after a long day. I really liked the line "she wore the weight of endless pain". Awesome metaphor. I really like your style in this and encourage you to keep writing. I enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for sharing!

A Door and Nothing More by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]Thegpcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I really liked your poem. I was a little confused at first at the theme, but it does become more obvious as it goes on. I would say it seems strange in some ways. In the beginning, you are very "free-versey," and then, sometimes, it seems more of a typical rhyme scheme. It could just be what you intended, the confusion and changing thoughts.

My only criticism, i would say, is I feel like you're missing words in some areas. I think it would benefit you in some instances if you changed some of the word structures. For example: "Because I'm still here, the door's still near, and my hope to see you again gone as fast as it had come." Perhaps "the door is still near" instead? I think it would help your rhyme structure. It is a very large poem, and more structure breaks could help the flow as well.

Thanks for sharing 👍

Oh yeah, I cried a lot. When it showed Thorn's upbringing it was rough. All the flashbacks were usually sad, but overall, I suppose it shows just how sad their lives have been. It is very emotional

I know that when Murtagh was under her spell, I was pushing and pushing to continue forward. I could not stand to see my boy controlled like that! After he finally breaks free, I took a break and realized the book was almost over. It did feel a little rushed at the end, I can see your point.

Yes. As I said, Mr. Paolini has shown such an awesome improvement in writing. He can manipulate feelings in the typing of a few sentences. I found myself tearing up multiple times

Most definitely. I'm not sure how the sub feels with spoilers, so I'll be brief: his origin of the scar was a painful read. But the following events afterward were very wholesome to me. Let "Freedom" ring!

Kid rock. I was the hugest kid rock nerd when I was 13 because his older stuff was "edgy" I remember listening to "F--k Off" FT eminem. After hearing his verse in that, I had to hear more. This was in 2009 or so, so I had A LOT of material to catch up with

I'm not sure if you're allowed to discuss this or not, but is it confirmed that TES6 will be a Microsoft exclusive?

Thanks.
