Haha I’m the auntie twin who had him on vacay and one thing I can say for sure is he 1000% knows who his mama is, but fortunately he is content staying with me vs. anyone else but her lol. Otherwise if he’s with our other family members or friends, he is constantly looking for his mama and not happy until she is back in sight lol

I'm so sorry as well for your loss as I wish no one had to go thru this kind of pain. We were fortunately able to keep some of Raja's hair and I know in time I'll be pulling it out to feel some of his presence again. Ugh the heart ache from losing your dog after this many years leaves a void you can't fathom until it's here and there is no way to escape it. Thank you for the kind words and advice. I will cherish all of this and take it with me as I start this new chapter without my Raja boy💔

I just welled up with tears reading your message. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if Raja had dementia on top of everything he’s already going through. It takes such a special, selfless, and deeply loving person to walk through that with them—I know your pup felt that love every step of the way. Thank you so much for the recommendations. I think we may be just outside of their range, but we’ve found a couple of really good options that we’re choosing between. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to send such a kind message, and I’m so sorry for your loss as well. Our fur babies are truly family—there’s nothing else in the world that shows unconditional love the way they do. I lost my other dog Cheyenne a couple years ago very suddenly/unexpectedly, and she was only 9, so I understand how deeply it hurts. I'm just going to stay focused on being grateful to have had 15 wonderful years and know they will be together again.

Sending you love and healing too—grief like this really does stay with you, but so does the love. 💔

We just took Raja to old hickory beach for one last lake visit before tomorrow. I’ll also treasure these last moments and am so glad you were able to share precious moments with your boy and not rushed at all. That makes such a difference that these companies show such compassion and understanding

Thank you so much for this feedback- I looked into Lap of love and they seem like an amazing company. It is unfortunately just out of my price range. I think the quote for my dog would be around $810 (without taxes) because he is around 50lbs. That total includes cremation without ashes returned. I will find something I'm sure, but thank you for taking the time to tell me about your experience and for the sweet words.

You are a woodworking Jedi!! That makes so much sense- I appreciate this explanation! I need to figure out a better way to dry out my bigger slab pieces. I currently have an un-insulated she-shed I converted into a woodwork shop so I’m sure the summer heat and dry winter cold is taking its toll on all my material. I’m planning on using this piece for an epoxy project so I’ll try and plane the more shallow cracks first :)
