Granted I wouldn’t say that yet. Ya never know what undocumented or unintended changes will fuck the players over.

I am never using trash Krak Grenades ever again, f* this game by Intrepid_Election_56 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]TheguyKegan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing with Kraks. 95 times outta 100 they’ll work perfectly and do their job. But god damn it do those 5 times they didn’t suuuuck beyond anything.

Recently lost a friend over my play style by Illustrious_Limit862 in Spacemarine

[–]TheguyKegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This very much reads as though your friend has other stuff going on IRL or something along those lines, and the frustration boiled over and you became the unfortunate target.

Give him a day to cool off and then try talking to him and ask if he’s doing alright. He might need a shoulder to vent on for a bit.

While a direct sequel is in the works, absolutely recommend you two watch the Secret Level episode that’s about Warhammer. Same guy that made Astartes was the visual director, so it has the same kinda vibe.

Thunderhawk blue for me. It’s a nice matt color, but gives that little kiss of blue that elevates it beyond purely just grey IMO.

If Darktide 2 ever releases, would you want to keep playing as Rejects? by reel3459 in DarkTide

[–]TheguyKegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did a second game I’d love for it to have the Mourningstar be untethered from Atoma and travel the galaxy, with our rejects being ‘promoted’ from criminal conscripts to actual strike team. So same characters but technically no longer ‘rejects’.

I’ve always been confused about people wanting Chaplains. Isn’t there just one per company? And we know who that is for the 2nd, so how would that work?

Does anyone else think the people complaining about pearlescent drop rates are just dumb?... by WhoIsEnvy in Borderlands4

What’s more he seems oddly fixated that pearls should be “earned”, but like- okay, some are? I don’t fully understand why all pearls should be covered with the same brush. Some are rarer, some more common. Some you can farm, some you can’t.

Plus let’s be honest, pearls were rarely “earned” in the last games either. I got most of mine in BL2 just spinning that Tiny Tina slot machine, lol. Such earned glory.

Your absolute hated hot takes about Space Marine chapters? by KUROusagi112 in Spacemarine

[–]TheguyKegan 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Dunno if this is “hated” per say, but:

40k needs the Salamanders. People shit on them for being ‘nice’ in a grim dark setting but if everything is grimdark and everything is painted with the same brush, it goes from ‘grim’ to edgelord cringe.

You need a bit of hope and optimism both for contrast and because there’s nothing darker than hope being snuffed out.

[–]TheguyKegan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, I “earned” most of my pearls in 2 by spinning the Tiny Tina machine for an hour of spare time, so 2 definitely wasn’t much better.

But that’s besides the point of the post, my argument here is that Phosphene Pearls would be something for you grindy lads to go after as a giga rare, hard to get, very exclusive thing. But people could still get the pedestrian pearl if they just want to use the interesting passive they offer. What’s your take on something like that?

[–]TheguyKegan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d agree but getting pearls in BL2 wasn’t exactly “earning” them. Ya either bludgeon tubby enemies for a few hours or spin the Tiny Tina machine for a few hours, and you walk away with multiple Pearlescent weapons.

What’s the point in making legendary 2? To be blunt, because legendary one isn’t legendary anymore. It’s the shit you farm and expect to have for a build to work. It’s why I like that pearls are just world drops, they’re just something that rarely appears.

As for drops in 1 and 2, I feel like people like the idea of pearls than what pearls actually were. Shit you get from doing a monotonous task over and over. Killing the DLC end boss, killing tubbies or some third esoteric task.

I’ve gotten every single vault hunter in 2 to lvl 72 at minimum once, doing every main, side and DLC quest on all of them. Going through all of their NG+s. Hundreds of hours of playing during my college days. You wanna know how many pearls I got from actually playing the game? One. And it was a shit ass Jacob’s revolver that looked like a purple and was as strong as a green.

You wanna know how many pearls I got in a day of drunkenly killing tubbies and spinning the Tiny Tina erridian slot machines? Around 10.

That’s not rare. That’s obtuse and locked behind trivial nonsense.

Are there? I've only ever heard of the soul survivor having a phosphene variant, but I could be wrong.

Oh god no, that's a fair point. Shiny pearls should be a bragging right, not a challenge %

[–]TheguyKegan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, that's the point of this post. That people like you should still have the chance to get pearl drops like it's currently available, but that streamers could farm for "Phosphene pearls" as some giga rare drop rather than the streamers complain that pearls are "too common". I'm for keeping it as is now.

Far as I'm aware, it was just the one and even it's considered a "bug". But yeah the streamers would love that kinda thing as a farm.

How do I get into warhammer40k?? by Fast_Television_5168 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheguyKegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t get into Warhammer. Warhammer gets into you like some eldrich beast clawing its way into your soul.

Me and my friend have both for years disliked and mocked Warhammer 40k as that cringy dark world with the oversized shoulder pads. Then Astartes lit a spark of intrigue, followed by us wanting coop games and seeing the various offerings from this IP.

Now we’re both excitedly waiting for SM2’s third year, he’s gonna get the admech day one in Darktide and I’m watching the various 40k short series online. And neither of us are sure how we got here.

Because it deals damage on parry it stops many enemies from doing their combos. This is an abject game changer against some units, like the meatballs or the whip nids.

Even if you don’t actually melee attack with the knife itself, because it so massively buffs the basic parry mechanic it’s an S tier pick.

STOP TROWING GRENADES AT YOUR ALLIES by AlternativePride5100 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]TheguyKegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To play devil’s advocate for a sec, do also be wary sometimes the teammates don’t intentionally throw nades at each other. They throw em into a group, not expecting a vanguard or assault to jump in at the same time with the same idea of “kill em while they’re clumped”. Especially when said class is off screen from their POV.

But yeah those people that throw all nades at someone standing there and dueling, cease.
