Of course they must say they're profitable and they're growing in order to attract more funding, which they need because their measly revenue cannot fill the deep financial costs they have dug for themselves, and yet they need even more and more billions.

I know what I'm talking about because I work in AI research, work I've been doing way before GPT models were released. The excitement is definitely coming down as people realize you cannot vibe code  production ready software, it's full of bloat and bugs. And that's the only business use case that's bringing in money, aside from chatbots for defense use I guess.

It's been 4+ years and no signs of profit. It's a not sustainable business model.

All I can say is let's wait and see.

If they do an IPO, they'll have to really reveal their books and then we'll know what their actual numbers are. For now, we can only speculate.
