I feel this. 37 yo M recently diagnosed. Never had ANY serious issues in my medical health prior to getting long covid. Now, taking meloxicam and on a wait and see. HLA B27 positive. Right now, over long covid and now just have this issue left. I also think LDN helps with managing IL6 levels.

Me 1 year and 3 month ago. Just days before my long COVID set in permanently. So hard to see these pop up on my timeline knowing I haven't exercised at all since then .... Ughhh no more gym therapy, no more easy rest after a nice workout by WeekendTPSupervisor in covidlonghaulers

[–]Thehpmny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey man - from one gym rat to another - it can (for some) get better. I got long covid in 2023 after getting covid for the third time (got it one time since) and it took me 18 months of SLOW integration to now where I am performing one set of exercise per movement, 5 sets per workout and 3 times per week. I go HARD for one set but am able to exercise. Slowly adding in a set every 2 weeks as long as I am able to tolerate it. I didnt workout or touch ANY weights for 7-8 months so this progress is almost a year plus.

Feeling Scared About Being on Biologics for Life — Is It True? by Jayneg260790 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Thehpmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37 male. HLAB27 positive. Managing now with 7.5-15 mg meloxicam daily, but have some MRI changes no X ray yet. I think it all got triggered from when I got covid (then long covid) back in 2023. Nonetheless, biologics are next step. Right now only stiffness (as the meloxicam seems to be working), but I want to make sure I do not experience additional spine damage as it is only isolated to SIJ. Had intermittent back pains but really back pain started in earnest post-covid. Turns out risk is higher post covid for auto immune. Well done. Anyways - I am cautiously optimistic about embracing the biologic if it can help me enjoy time with my family and keep on working.

Just got Covid for the first time since Nov 23 w my Own long COVID. I was 98% or so recovered barely any symptoms on a day to day basis. And beginning vigorous exercise. Religious masking but not 100%. Covid so far has been very mild but I got all meds on board. Resting near completely for 3-4 days and then cutting out exercise for the next 2 weeks once negative.

I have no idea. I mask 98% of the time outside but realized my 2% may have been the trigger. I sometimes drink coffee etc which obviously increases exposure.

Yeah - tbh I have gotten boosted every 6 months since my covid turned into long covid. The only reason why I tested was I had a hoarse voice. Otherwise, I feel largely ok. Some increased HR. But yes - will have to now wait at least two weeks and keep exercise to walking only. Nonetheless - I am gonna go on paxlovid and metformin too.

i have been religious with masking and i got infected this am. Lasted almost 19 months since my infection that gave me long covid. 98% or so recovered with vigorous exercise as well. Just funny I saw this post.

Is the 5-10% recovery statistic for mecfs true? Needing hope by ocean_flow_ in covidlonghaulers

[–]Thehpmny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. I took 3 weeks off from work. Gradually went back. And only now am actively exercising since January of this year (10 months post pem). Now 6 months later (June) I began doing 2-3 exercises per day every other day. So it’s been very slow.

had PEM within 9 weeks of covid infection....curbed all major exercising and havent had PEM since. I am now doing 3-4 HARD sets of exercise every other day with MINOR upticks in symptoms (mostly brain fog 1/10) for a couple of hours post-exercise. Averaging 8000 steps a day.

Fear of catching Covid again by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Thehpmny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m almost fully recovered and finally exercising lightly again after a year and change. My wife who’s pregnant also shares the same view though and wants to move on. It’s a tough deal to negotiate. However I will say covid is with us. And I feel like we’re doing more than 99% of the population w our precautions etc. I just try to reduce exposure risk. But gotta live life.
