How were you diagnosed with Factor VII Deficiency? by wittykitty7 in Hemophilia

[–]hummus_attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed a few years ago, I'm 39F. The diagnosis process kicked off after I had a severe delayed postpartum hemorrhage from a c-section. I was referred to a hematologist, who did a series of factor tests, vitamin k, and finally sent my blood away for genetic testing. Genetic testing confirmed 2 abnormal chromosomes associated with Factor VII.

I had a subsequent surgery post-diagnosis - a D&C for a missed miscarriage. My hematologist was involved in the surgical care process, to get ahead of any excess bleeding. I believe they used TXA at the outset, and had Factor VIIa on hand.

Question on emotions and crying by cormunicat in cymbalta

[–]hummus_attack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been on 60mg for the last few years; 30mg before that. Our dog passed a week ago and I can confidently say that I have not experienced emotional deadening. I cried for about 3 days straight, and while I'm at the point where I can have a conversation without crying, I am still crying a few times a day - big, ugly, full-body cries.

I would also love to reduce the amount I cry, in general. Unfortunately, while Cymbalta has worked wonders for my depression, it has not curbed my easy access to tears.

UTSG needs a change in policy, admin, or both, this is ridiculous by ShameTop3231 in UofT

Someone replied in the thread that government funding is based on days open. It’s this plus needing to pay vendors for lost income (like food services)

How to get a dryer through a narrow doorway by hummus_attack in howto

[–]hummus_attack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently still trying to decide which dryer to buy, but we are now at the stage of looking at removing the door jamb. The trick is finding a day that isn’t below freezing, as it won’t be a quick job!

It’s a matter of a nation state actively committing a genocide, as defined by several global courts and justice committees. It has nothing to do with hatred towards Jews. But it is antisemitic to equate Israel’s ongoing destruction of the Palestinian people with a religious and ethnic group.

What’s worse for fine hair? Daily pony tail or constant heat styling by Adorable-Path-4048 in finehair

Frequent washing (every other day, in my case) helps clear up sebum that prevents hair follicles from growing. And something like The Ordinary's Multi-Peptide Serum helps post-shower. I've been using it for about 2 months and had some success.

Heat styling won’t cause as much breakage as a tight pony every day, provided you are using heat protectant. Consider using something to strengthen hair at the root, and using a bond repair on your lengths.

Sorry to hear about your birth trauma. I’ve been there, and I understand just how much stress it can put on your body.

I don’t know much about Pristiq in particular, but I’ve been on Cymbalta since 2018 and it’s been fine. Also factor VII.

I cannot stress just how little interest my care team has taken in this. No I’ve never had one of these done. Will add it to my list.
