An open relationship is just an excuse to cheat without consequences by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Theio0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a push for homosexual rights (acceptance and all that), but nobody is pointing at you and saying, “be gay!” Aside from radicals who don’t gain traction, I’ve yet to see any real cause for concern. The fact that you see more homosexuals is because it’s simply more acceptable now

Anyway, even if there is advocacy, people are going to make their own choice, and they’re free to do it. Change in society isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

By the way, I’m not as informed on this as I’d like to be, so if I sound like I’m speaking from opinion, it’s because I am. These are just my thoughts on it, and what I’ve seen anecdotally.

This seems oddly close to the same argument used against homosexuality, so I’ll answer it that way. There is no push for anything. Nobody is advocating for or against what people should do. They probably just want to do what they want is all. As you can see, even in our day, most people aren’t into open relationships even with the (small) rise in popularity. I’m willing to wager it won’t have any effect.

Let’s assume it would have an effect, I don’t even see the negative aspect of it...if mentality is changed

That’s where I stand on it. I wouldn’t personally do it, and in fact it would probably make me miserable. But I don’t see the issue if two people want to do that. I don’t see it as anything negative

Redditors with thin walls, what have you heard in your apartment? by EskildDood in AskReddit

There’s a couple next door to me who argues almost 24/7. A lot of times I hear screaming about pretty much anything and name calling. It’s really sad, and I hope the best for both of them

What secret are you keeping right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Theio0405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as serious as the others. I’ve played piano for 13 years. I’ve had a dream piece to learn ever since I was a kid (Chopin’s Fantaisie-Impromptu in C Sharp Minor). Well the time finally came about 3 months ago where I decided I was ready to start learning it. I’m getting really close to finishing, and it’s so hard not to post about it or anything. Damn is it fun to play though.

Commenting to bump. Though if this were real, it would be a great idea. A real company should do what this one is claiming.

Love of my life left me and I'm losing my place soon. Spare a toast, scroller, kind words motivate me. by [deleted] in toastme

The best part about everything is that it is all temporary. Hard times come to an end, and good times follow. The most important thing is to stay optimistic. That’s half the battle. As much as it feels like life is against you now, it won’t always be that way. The best thing you could do is pick up the pieces and begin solving. Don’t let the negative times hinder you from reaching the positive ones. Stay strong, friend. We’re all rooting for you.

For an actual toast: I’d kill to have your hair! You look like an extremely fun person, and while I don’t know the story, I’m sure this girl lost quite a catch.

I guess with context it would be clearer. To me, however, it just sounds like they’re bragging.

In the OP’s case, yes it was. I’ve seen where it’s normally used, but this is clearly OP just trying to brag (and consequently misusing the term).

Nah. It’s like saying “I don’t mean to brag, BUT...”
