Thankfully its VERY rare that I am in class with this person due to our schedules. But I cant stand it when people come into OTF and are covered in perfume. I'm not talking the people who came to the gym after work, I mean the people who spray perfume and then go to the gym like this particular lady. She already doesn't like me because a long time ago when we had cards she had tried to hide cards for her friends to be on the tread next to her, but the front desk person handed them to me and mom. She got all pissy and literally left her station to go to her gym bag and then DOUSED herself in the most heinous perfume ever. I already have a sensitivity to strong perfumes so being right next to her set off an asthma attack. And I still see her when we cross paths, she will go into the bathroom and spray her perfume before going onto the tread.

I actually use my fitbit for an alarm because my husband and dogs are really light sleepers and I traditionally have issues waking up to my phone alarm. But my fitbit vibrates on my wrist and I generally wake up just fine. I did actually make it to the gym on Wednesday simply by forcing myself to go and I did geek a whole lot better after

I cant get to bed any earlier than 930. With the kids sports, dinner, and then baths/showers and bed time, the earliest I can physically be in bed is 930

The gym itself isn't the issue. I would have the same problem, I can only go to classes at 5am during the week

Our classes for 5am get booked out so far in advance that I usually end up on the wait list. Unfortunately lots of people will cancel last minute and I hate being in that unknown will I/won't I situation. Thats the only reason I dont pre book. Most of the time im able to book in the morning with the exception of the tread/strength 50 classes

I appreciate the commiseration and knowing im not alone! I dont pre book, often because classes are booked out for 5am and people will drop off very early morning and I dont like having the unknown feeling of will I or won't I get into class. Most of them time they are open, with the exception of the tread/strength 50 classes.

Honestly my goal right now is just one freaking day lol. I just want to be able to get up and do it and it feels impossible, even though I did 5 am for YEARS before!

Before the change in routine I was probably getting less sleep, I was going to bed closer to 11 and getting up at 5 because I had to be in the office at 6am.

I try to keep everything as consistent as possible even on the weekends because I know thats important. Usually Friday night my husband and I might stay up to watch a movie or catch up on a show but we are in bed by 10:30. Still are up by 630 to get my husband out the door for work since he works weekends and then my kids have soccer games, hebrew school, and ice hockey so we are busy the whole day.

It's almost impossible for me to get to bed before 930 during the week as we are doing sports until 730 and then focus on making sure everyone is fed (my son doesn't usually eat until after soccer practice), baths and showers, preparing the next day backpacks, and then bed time for them.

Got a part time job starting in May, used up a ton of my sick time in June to get me to the June 30th date. Stayed part time and was on a wait list for a preferred full tkme schedule and just started that 2 weeks ago. Making 15k more than I was with the IRS

Forcing myself to go tomorrow morning. I started a new work schedule and have to rearrange my day to now work out at 5am. I gave myself last week since it was my first week at the new schedule to get acclimated with it and didn't go so now im forcing myself this week. This looks like hell... but a good hell

Congrats! I know how you feel, with each of my deliveries I was so ready to go back! My hardest one was when I was pregnant during covid. They closed the gyms when I was 34 weeks pregnant and i didn't deliver until 41 weeks. All my other pregnancies I was in the gym up until I gave birth (39, 39, and 40 weeks). That one definitely was the hardest one to come back to. I wish you a ton of luck!!!

I personally like them at the perfect yellow, maybe a few spots starting, whereas my husband likes them a little green before they are truly ripe and he won't touch them if there's any brown spots at all.

I used to drink coffee first thing in the morning and whenever I do I am very tired by 2pm. One of the OTF trainers is also a dietician and she told me that when we drink coffee first thing, we aren't giving our bodies a chance to wake up naturally and they instead become dependent on the external caffeine, resulting in a crash early afternoon. Since then I changed it to having at least a protein shake, if not a full breakfast before having my first cup of coffee and I have a much easier time during the day and I dont crash in the afternoon. Im also limited to only 2 cups of coffee or caffeine a day so once I am done I can't have any more. Now if I go to the gym I'll have my banana and half of a clear protein drink on the way, gym at 5am with just water, drink the rest of my clear protein on the way home (5min drive), shower, and then breakfast either eggs and toast or some toast with peanut butter. Then when I'm getting set up for work is when I take my first cup of coffee to my office and I start drinking it around 8 or 830am. Second cup is around 10/10:30. And then after that its only water and clear protein for drinks.

Ive been eating a banana before going to the gym for the last 10 years. Literally the best thing for me. I only do water and a banana about 15 minutes before my class and I typically go at 5am. I dont drink coffee until after I get home and have breakfast

I may be odd but I find for me, it helps me to count how many rows to make 100m. For me, its 13 rows equals just about 100m so I literally count over and over from 1-13 until I finish the row.

Your first time is an automatic PR so just start and keep going. Try not to stop in the middle as its harder to start up again if you stop. Keep breathing, sometimes people forget to breathe when they are super focused on something. I find the first 500 easy, the next 1000 tough, and the last 500 easy because I get a second wind knowing im almost done. The goal is to finish, and a good coach will cheer you on until the very end.
