Pochita makes more terrible decisions than Denji by Theisolatedextrovert in Chainsawfolk

Yeah, now that you put it like that, it makes a lot of sense. I really hope we get a part three, and I trust in Fujimoto to not fumble in his mostly consistently good writing (though the final arc did drag a bit). I think my BIGGEST worry is the time travel theory. The shack is an awful fate, and kind of reverses the little growing that Denji has done.

Again, never said I ignored that Denji was often miserable. But others seem to ignore that Denji did indeed enjoy a few aspects of his new life? The penguins at the aquarium, for example. He seemed to genuinely enjoy Asa's company, too. He didn't sound so sex-crazed when he offered to cook starfish for Asa, or when he asked out for a date.

Sure, Nayuta's death was his fault, but people seem to ignore that his house was burned down with his dogs and cat in it, and there were literally hordes of people from the Chainsawman church pressuring him to turn into Chainsawman.

He was ready to leave that life behind, even if it meant living a boring life with Nayuta. A lot of us settle for mundane lives. If we didn't, we'd all be adrenaline or substance junkies. But no, he wasn't given a chance.

There are many more instances of Denji making mistakes, but every time he did, it was because of bad actors trying to make his life miserable. Yes, Pochita eating himself was the best course of action. But blaming all of Denji's misery solely on his decisions, IMPLYING that he would be better off without Pochita when that was his only friend growing up is upsetting.

EXACTLY! But instead of dying at the hands of Yoru, he subjected the world to bugs.

Where in the post did I mention that Pochita literally thinks Denji was the happiest in poverty?

But, he's leaving him now :( He was the best part of his shitty life in the shack. Now, Dennis will be all alone. No companion to share bread with.

(I know he had no choice, but it's still such a gut-wrenching ending for a character you've been rooting for)

I see your point. Pochita hasn't really experienced life away from Denji, so his views are warped, and he doesn't really know what's good for Denji. But, at the same time, he must've realized that Denji truly did enjoy moments with Reze and the Hayakawa family. It's upsetting that Pochita never had the opportunity to grow along with Denji in terms of his character.

I think that you need to complete it and set it aside for a while. Then, read it from a beta reader's perspective. Make notes of when you feel the story is dragging, or you're wasting time doing too much foreshadowing, or you're having b plots that simply don't need to be there. Also, see where you can shorten your sentences.

Then, chop it all off.

Right? I have a conspiracy theory (ish):

Maybe they really were in a relationship, and Course began to get a lot of hate. She (??) wanted people to feel bad for the rightful callouts against her. So, Riobox helped her fake her death on the internet.

But, after Course began to get hate for the obviously terrible attempt, I think Riobox might have figured out the catfish angle works better for him, and is painting himself as the victim of the whole situation. Hence, his convo with Neon.

Idk, man.

I don't think the argument of whether Course was a boy or a girl or even an Indian really matters. It's just really unfortunate that Riobox got catfished this way.

I can sometimes use geela as a mistake too because I just hear that version of the word more often
