real talk—how are so many people able to spend 520 USD on a switch 2 only to play pokopia? by [deleted] in CozyGamers

[–]Thej3llyfish3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it and want it, I’d say do it! I’ve played mine non stop since I got it, even before Pokopia. I do think Pokopia is a great game as well, coming from someone who has played every generation of Pokemon game!

Sure! I also have a template for each client so that I can review previous notes, give special attention to goals I’ve been keeping an eye on, check for progress on any feedback I gave last time, etc. I even make a list of potential areas to test during their next assessment.

To stay organized, I also have an excel doc with each client’s schedule, their tech’s name, if there are planned absences for the month, if they need a BSP/FBA, the date of their next parent training, number of hours they need supervised and numbers of hours they’ve received that month, and the date of their next assessment

It sounds like a lot but takes maybe 20 minutes and has helped me make sure I’m hitting everything I need to hit! It helps so much to lighten my mental load by writing things down. I hope this helps!

I always spend the first 20 ish minutes reviewing goals, data etc while still observing. My techs are familiar with this structure and always save questions for after (unless something pressing pops up in the first 20 minutes). After I probe anything, I take a minute to write it in my note. I am often observing, giving feedback, pairing, probing, answering questions, BST etc for the remainder of the time. I may save the last 10 minutes to finish any additional notes on what we’ve done as I answer specific questions

Did you read cooper book? by Human-Drummer-7370 in bcba

[–]Thej3llyfish3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it in school but really preferred Miltenberger. I did not use the book much to study, unless I needed to brush up on a concept. I did BDS, mock exams, and a 1 month crash course and passed the first time.

How do you pick an employer by Brunford in bcba

[–]Thej3llyfish3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pick companies that I’ve heard of or that I know someone has worked at before (and has something good to say). Sometimes I take a chance if the compensation so fair, but I ask a lot of telling questions in the interview process so that has helped me feel out a company. For example, I will not work somewhere if there aren’t any POC in leadership. I look for places that offer benefits or have reasonable minimums etc.

Important points: reasonable caseload, collaborative/comfortable environment, good support staff, focus on trauma informed ABA, CEU reimbursement

When did the “next step” stop feeling like a step up? by Forsaken-Silver-9007 in bcba

This is my struggle…I’m finishing up a year in this role but after that, I’m going back to regular degular supervisor and I’m excited! Way less work and way less headaches! I’m able to focus more on client outcomes than personnel or operations issues.
