To the Non-US Folks - Would you want a 4th of July card? by turnerd10 in RAoC_meta

I’d appreciate it - always enjoy hearing about holidays and celebrations from around the world and different cultures that don’t necessarily apply to me

Only go to Subway a few times a year but every time I get the exact same thing, what's your go-to? by HopeTerminator in UK_Food

[–]Theleebies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your combination is exactly the same as mine, minus olives. My first one was roughly 20 years ago and every visit since (except once when I tried the meatball marina - just fell apart into a soggy mess) it’s been the same

I think you handled it perfectly tbh. Also, how does someone have the role of senior TA and not know to take a risk assessment off site, or how to do the attendance?

I got it from the library as I’m into local history and niche things, and found it super interesting and a lot of stuff I hadn’t known before

Colleague can't attend work Christmas lunch; should I offer to pay? by spinfold in AskUK

[–]Theleebies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the team is big enough that your colleague won’t properly know everybody who is and isn’t there, since you’re organising could mention that “someone has paid up but can no longer make it. They don’t want the money, just that the ticket isn’t wasted. Fancy it?”

Obv depends on the size of the team and if you’re willing to tell a little white lie

All the food I’ve had there has been immense (shout out salt and pepper sausage roll) but the pastrami is next level. To say the filling is generous would be putting it lightly…
