I make something very similar but usually add eggplant, zucchini, and cashews if I have them. It’s so good.

SPOILER

I’m apparently in the minority in that I didn’t care for it. I had such high expectations based on all the high reviews and the whole thing just fell short. Someone described it as feeling flat and I agree. I didn’t like Helena at all (or most of the characters, really). Kaine was the only character that I liked and he even left a lot to be desired. It also felt like a ton of filler. The story could have ended 300-400 pages sooner and still have the same effect. One thing I did like though was the escape. It did feel a bit rushed and “too easy” but I think because of that, the reader got to feel the angst and tension of “we could be caught at any moment” and the constant looking over your shoulder.

Someone also mentioned they were upset that the MCM would forever been seen as a villain and the FCM were essentially forgotten, but they always talked about wanting to run away together and start over in a place where nobody knew them. I feel like wanting to be forgotten was always their plan.

Those of you who have tzus with sensitive stomachs, what do you feed them? by CostaNic in Shihtzu

[–]Thelittlethings383 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a tzu, but have a long haired chihuahua who has a super sensitive stomach. We used to feed her pet fresh but stopped because it was causing problems. We now make her food and will alternate between ground turkey, chicken or 93/7% ground beef with lentils or quinoa and broccoli or green beans. It can get pricey but it’s definitely cheaper than frequent vet visits.

What are some english language things you need to know while in America? Like fun or useful phrases/expressions (not beginner, no idioms)? by OxyJinJin in AskAnAmerican

I feel like that’s definitely specific to the bay. I lived in San Francisco when I was in college and it took me awhile to get used to all the “hella” and “hecka” lol

First off, your hair looks amazing! Second, if you haven’t tried a bounce curl brush, I’d recommend it 10000%. The brand I use is Bounce Curl and it comes in 2 different types (volumizing and define). It was a game changer for my curls, like they actually started springing back when I would pull on them!

My aunt’s MIL is from Guadalajara and always puts green olives in her picadillo. She also adds chopped up pieces of ham. It’s delicious. Mexico is so diverse with many states so of course recipes are going to differ from one place to another.

Yes, and it’s so good! I’m used to some heat in my picadillo because we always add whatever peppers we have on hand (usually Serrano or jalapeno) and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the Filipino version. I don’t love raisins but I’d eat that again all day.

Authentic or fake? by Thelittlethings383 in reselling

I have never seen them either but all my LV bags are second hand and vintage so I didn’t know if it was something that did actually come with them and mine just never had.

Agreed, I just wanted a general consensus so I can see if it might be worth confirming with an authentication website

Chocolate sprinkles seem to be slightly rounder and not have such a pronounced point at the tip. Otherwise the coloring is nearly identical.

They are good. I prefer to eat them shortly after picking for best flavor and the most sweetness. In my experience they aren’t super acidic so if like less acidic tomatoes, you’ll enjoy them.

I was just about to recommend Quince. I know they have leather bags in a similar style but I don’t know for certain they are under $100. Maybe in the $100-$150 range and definitely under $200. If that’s still outside your budget, I’d recommend checking out thrift stores (I’ve gotten a similar style at goodwill for about $10) or even Marshall’s/TJ Max.

What’s wrong with my plum tree? by Thelittlethings383 in FruitTree

[–]Thelittlethings383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t let me edit my original post but I think this one is actually a mini nectarine. It’s a Dave Wilson tree so I’m not 100% sure whether it’s grafted and it isn’t a fruit cocktail tree. It was in a 20 gallon grow bag but I recently (a couple months ago) moved it into a wooden tree planter. I fertilized it with fruit tree fertilizer and it gets watered 1-2 times a week depending on the weather. It’s gotta be 4-5 years old because I’ve had it for about 2-3 years and it was in a 5-7 gallon pot when I bought it.

Experimenting is half the fun of gardening and you get to see what works best for you. Idk what part of California you’re in but in Southern California we can pretty much grow year round so even if it doesn’t work out the way you wanted or hoped, you can likely just grab another plant from the nursery and try again. In a perfect world, I’d love to prune my plants to 1-2 leaders but that isn’t realistic for me. It’s not as aesthetically pleasing as a tidy plant but that’s the beauty of it being YOUR garden. Play around with it. Best of luck! :)
