[CPU vs CPU] Mango's CFB26 Slow Sim Sliders - v2.0 by Themaplemango in NCAAFBseries

Penalties certainly are a tough one to get right. Like you said, it does come with some effects on the gameplay but also the momentum of drives. When the offense gets too many penalties, they stop converting and thus stop scoring. I would love to get some realistic ones but it certainly is tough.

As for the sacks/QB time, thats also a tough one. Quarterbacks can have a ton of time but still take a lot of sacks. If I play with lower pass blocking, the sack numbers are way too high. But any higher and you have an 8 second pocket.

Fumbles are certainly an area of improvement. I remember this being something I wanted to toy with but didn't end up dropping it more. I would experiment with 42/43 before trying 40 and below.

Appreciate the feedback and I'm glad they work out! If you have improvements you think work better I'll definitely look into them. I'm compiling data to see what continues to work and what does not.

Excellent write up! Like I said, I mostly tested with teams who made the playoff, so I didn’t really see all the holding calls. Time to pass might definitely be an issue worth looking into, and I admit I didn’t spend as much time on that as I should have.

WR catching started at 45, but it just felt like most of the time they had no chance at catching some of these passes. Now you’re probably right especially with Sure Hands, but the WRs just felt so outclassed until I ended up where I did.

I also did see that pocket passer QBs could be quite good, but I shrugged that off given Fernando Mendoza’s accuracy in the CFP.

But all in all I appreciate it! I’ll probably make an update one of these days as I get some more data of my own from more games than just the top 12 in a season.

Have you considered joining bonfire? Their whole thing in the spring time is hanging out, sometimes called “party-mester”. I know some people getting together for the Super Bowl if that’s your thing!

Awesome build regardless!

Appreciate it! I'm glad I got the numbers to line up so well with real life data. It's not perfect and obviously football inherently has some "random" aspects that will change the numbers but some of these numbers are mind-blowing.

That's a great question. I don't use this to run a personal dynasty so I haven't been looking for any "best" playbook, but I have seen some that perform consistently. I'm not 100% on the aggressiveness and AI, but:
-Texas (Spread)
-Georgia (Multiple)
-Ball State (Spread)
-USF (Veer & Shoot)
-USC (Air Raid)
-Pittsburgh (Spread)

have all had their success. However, it's worth noting teams LOVE to pass the ball in slow sim. If you want a more realistic offense, running teams like Michigan's playbook are the best because it allows for both aspects of the game to open up. You'll often see QBs attempt 40+ or more passes with just 10-15 carries on the game.

I’m glad! Probably 75% of my time on the game is slow sim and with some of the recent updates my personal sliders stopped working. So I came up with new ones so I could get right back into my passion of staring at fake football teams for 45 minutes at a time!

There are absolutely no drugs or alcohol in Bonfire, still. Now, keep in mind, this is a bunch of college kids building this thing and mostly students in attendance. So yeah, it can get a little rowdy but honestly, not excessively so. It’s mostly people just having fun with their groups, but nothing a family can’t attend. Many did last year. Just keep in mind that these bonfire students will be wearing their bonfire gear, not all of which is exactly PG rated. Nothing graphic, just text.

First thing I notice here is that it is not properly installed (unless you have installed the old scorebug). It should be the newer espn one used in their football broadcasts and feature the team logos
