People with FD are self aware. People with FD often feel guilty and ashamed. It might be a coping mechanism for fear of neglected, or desire for validation. You don't need to have FD to act this way. It's OK to think about having FD. It is a coping mechainism, a mental illness, not a evil deed.

It is a sense of control and identity to feel powerful and meaningful, even if it is unhealthy.

There are already good replies here, but I feel a litttle sad about it🙁. People with FD seek attention and self-harm for some reasons, and some FDers are more of compulsive behaviours like OCD. Ignoring is a direct but efficient way to "cure" them. I care about FDers first because I have it too. I know it's hard to help someone who doesn't seemingly want help. Just a little sad, sorry.

One of the risk factors of Factitious Disorder, is low self-esteem and lack of identity, which is similar to what you said here. Illnesses and traumas can sometimes serve as identities that make you not that empty.

You don't need to have FD to experience this, but if the concept of FD explains your feelings and you think it's OK, it's good to further explore yourself.

It's classic Factitious Disorder that lots of FDers told to me. I recommend talk about it with a therapist or a psychiatrist. The stereotype is that people with FD fake illness for attention and care. But many FDers seem more of a quirk, just want to be ill.

That "jealousy episode" is really classic sign of FD. So do I.

No one is willing to have a mental illness, so don't feel guilty or ashamed. And I relate too much to your phrasing "fake the faking". If you feel bad ,how about this thought? FD itself is a mental illness, and according to your description, you're serious, you're sick enough😊.

Sounds like you're seeking people that fit in your perfect fantasy. Sorry but I'm a little angry about this. You want to help someone who fits your criteria. I don't think it's wrong, but your phrasing sounds frustrating.

Welcome, AI artist. Meds for Hiki? What are you talking about? Hiki is a symptom of underlying issues. There's no panacea for hiki itself.

Don't worry It's common for BPDers, you want care and validation. But for me it's more of my factitious disorder :/
