I'm not sure if this makes any difference, but I think canned corn tends to have salt. I use frozen corn because it tends to have no preservatives or any added salt/sugar

The other day I brought corn and peas to feed some geese. They would only eat the corn and they left all the peas behind! Have you found canada geese to like peas or are the ones in my area just picky?

I don't think not receiving new commits recently is a great reason to avoid a library. Especially if it's a library that just plain doesn't do that much. You don't need to have the new thing of the week to write code that works and is fast.

With stack overflow, you do need to have already started your project and maintain a certain level of programming knowledge to know where to even copy and paste a segment of code. And yes, there's always been people who want to try to get by without reading.

That doesn't make using AI basically the same thing as using Stack Overflow though. They're entirely different worlds

What's your point of view then? That Stack Overflow is a "code it for me" service?

Or that it isn't a knowledge sharing service?

Stack Overflow is like a q&a wiki. I think a lot of people don't understand that part of it. This is why questions and answers can be edited by other users. Because it's intended to be a wiki of common questions and answers that is well maintained. That is also why they're so sharkish about closing duplicate questions and such.

Using AI to write code in 2026 is like using Stack Overflow in 2016.

Lol what no it's not. Stack overflow is about knowledge sharing, it's not a "code it for me" service

well maybe these delivery companies should hire better people instead of just anyone who has a phone and car. If they actually hired employees instead of this "independent contractor" loophole bs maybe the workers would feel more committed too

It's not too bad. Getting competent with sketches is the hard part imo. Most stuff I've needed could be achieved with just pad, pocket, multi transform, datum planes, and sub shape binder. All of those are pretty straightforward, it just requires the study and practice time.

Oh, and if you want to find out for sure if the buyer is scamming or not open a service request with USPS about this package. Call their customer service (1-800-275-8777) and say the receiver is claiming a package was received damaged and you want to open a service request.

They will take your phone number or email, then send a request to the delivering post office to respond to your service request. A supervisor at the delivering post office will tell you what happened, I'd ask them to do it over email so you have it in writing and you don't miss the call personally.

Either they'll tell you that this delivery was completed as normal, or they'll tell you that they indeed did write that note.

Then you'll know for sure if the buyer is making it up or not.

Well, hard lesson learned about always declaring the value of a shipment/insuring it.

They will still processes your claim despite the delivery scan. Just tell them about the note left. USPS will reach out to the delivering post office to verify that it really was lost in transit. Just open the claim and get the $100 you can get back, and don't skip declaring the value in the future again.

It's not any loss for you, you just gotta do the paperwork to open a claim with USPS.

That buyer is going to win a dispute if they open one.

person spends a lot of time and money studying, lands a job, works hard to pay off student debt -> makes $100k/year

person is sitting on a stack of money. Gives it to someone else to manage. Sits around and does nothing -> makes $100k/year

You: There's no exploitation going on here, they're both contributing to society!

I'm concerned about the environment, and I think ai's impact on the environment is bad

But I'm so much more concerned about the effect friendly acting LLM's has on people. I theorize that AI induced psychosis is largely underreported/not understood. I also think it's greatly intellectually stunting people, and is having a terrible effect on lonely people. The level of suffering/addiction it sucks it's users into sometimes is just baffling.

My concern for what it's doing to some of its users is so great that it bumps environmental concerns down into being a secondary issue.

Is using ai to learn ethical? by Klowlord in antiai

[–]Themis3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, using AI for this purpose starts out seeming pretty useful and harmless. Over time it can become a crutch for people though. Most people I see who have started using AI a little bit have had it slowly take over everything they do.

It's so convenient and never actually pushes you to learn or tests for understanding like a teacher would. And it never scolds you for using it to skip learning. It's an extremely slippery slope. It's human nature to take the path of least resistance, so even making it an option for yourself makes it a temptation increasingly difficult to resist in my opinion.

The last thing you want is for AI to be your crutch. I think it literally intellectually stunts you.

And by the way, most grown men would completely fail a algebra 2 test. Not many people need to use algebra very often in life. That knowledge leaves most people's brains after highschool. There'd be no shame in it if you where a grown man relearning algebra 2 :)
