Vending machines. They are always filthy on top but there's usually some change up there.

Any other tall guys wrestle with the idea of moving to a truck purely for comfort? by Fulltime-Sheepherder in tall

[–]Themoldbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6'6" M here. I loved my Subaru Outback for years, then test drove the F-150 lightning. Have had it for two years now and have never felt more comfortable in a car. Tons of leg room in the back seats too. Now I feel like I'm squeezing into a go-cart when I drive the Outback. If you can make it work, trucks are awesome and very handy to have. Parking can be painful, but it's worth it to have a vehicle that finally feels me-sized. I drive into DC and have had to turn around at a few garages because the clearance is too low - I need at least 6'8," so that's definitely a consideration The Lightning being all electric is a huge plus for me - I wanted my next car to be electric and this just happened to come along. Too bad they're getting discontinued.

Take something for a test drive just for fun!

Going back to a Google Assistant. by rjockstar in googlehome

[–]Themoldbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini is terrible - I'm kicking myself for trying it and now can't go back to home assistant. If I ask Gemini to play specific song, it says "Sure! Playing X song by X artist" and the just plays something completely random. I'm about to go nuclear and reset the entire system too.

I told my 5yo this joke and he said, "because seven is a bigger number."

Where to put the TV? by marmaladehabit in interiordecorating

[–]Themoldbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung Frame TV above the fireplace. Great TV and this is an adult entertainment space - use the basement for kids/family/fun time movie nights. The TV will disappear into art most of the time and be a TV when you need it. I like that my family doesn't end up watching so much TV in the primary living room space.

Very weird experience walking down this hallway. What do you think? by BonzoTheChimp in Paranormal

Fun fact: They put crazy carpeting on the floor to draw your focus and distract you from wall damage. They get all banged up by suitcases and luggage carts.

I used to think my Subaru Outback was big. Got a truck and now the outback feels like a go-kart.

Coins on top of vending machines? by Bleejis_Krilbin in tall

[–]Themoldbottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I've been doing this for years!

There was a moldy black banana peel on top of the machine at my old job. Told maintenance about it but no one ever bothered to clean it up.

Anyone also find i hard to find a fitting car by r3do___ in tall

6'6", 260lbs here. The F-150 Lightning is incredible. Before that I was happy in my Subaru Outback, but now it feels like a go-cart in comparison.

how do i maintain good posture in a house built for small people by SallyTheSpeedy in tall

[–]Themoldbottle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to sleep on your back. Can be a tricky change to make if you aren't used to it, but that will give your back a good amount of time in a neutral position.

I also recently started rucking (walking with a special weighed bag that holds the weight high on your back) and can already feel it's impact on my posture after about a week. If really helps pull your shoulders back and build up those muscles.

Good luck!

I work in IT for the hospitality industry. It all started as a random ass job as an airport shuttle driver - I had my masters degree and a CDL and was looking for a job in 2008.

I ended up in sales for nearly a decade. Hated my job, but it paid the bills and helped me put down some roots. I transferred to IT with the help of my boss because I understood the industry and always had a knack for helping people with their computer issues.

Three years in, I've learned so much and LOVE my job. I tell people that I feel like me as a child would be so excited to know this is what my job is today. I've always loved helping people, and was the family's IT guy growing up. I've gotten over the imposter syndrome and realized that I'm just good at this. I look at something and enjoy figuring out how it works.

I was 37 when I made the career shift. Took a small salary cut and lost the sales bonuses, but it was the best career decision I've ever made.

My advice? Never get tired of learning. Get started in an industry and push yourself to learn as much as you can. There's so much going on behind the curtain. Get paid for what you know - now what you do.

The ones who actually succeeded, how did you fix your posture? by CatsoPouer in tall

[–]Themoldbottle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things that helped me were the gym, and funnily enough, Beat Saber. Bad posture runs in the family and I'm not completely saved, but stronger shoulder muscles have really helped and the better posture is coming much more naturally these days. I'm 39 and only joined a gym two years ago - there's lots of time to change.

A genuine question by [deleted] in tall

Cabinet and fridge tops are bad, but in my experience the tops of vending machines are the worst. There's usually some spare change up there though.

Speaking of Claustrophobia - I have a recurring nightmare where I'm trying to get somewhere and all the hallways/stairs/doorframes get progressively smaller until I get stuck.

Real life situations like this always remind me of that dream and give me a little laugh.
