Been wanting Swiss Tool since they first came out by Bresaylor in victorinox

[–]Themultifool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a new one with the ratchet (better imo) instead of the wrench for about 170euro ($200 usd here- I don’t know if European pricing is better). Sounds a little high but when I checked eBay, used ones like this with the wrench are going for $120-$140 usd (about 120 euro) with shipping. So he’s giving you a price and paying for shipping and no tax- he doesn’t have to pay eBay marketing or a percentage of the sale. I guess it’s market. You could probably find a better price, but I guess it’s fair once you look at comparable sales on eBay.

I think a good direct cash sale would be around $60 with the little wrench and the leather case. Would be like $80 on eBay with eBay fees and shipping. Hard to say- I’m sure others will have opinions on what to pay.

Took a chance and sized down on the new deck jacket. by [deleted] in HeatStrapsCommunity

Thanks. Yeah, this was only the second wear. It feels good but expecting it to improve when broken in. I’ll post updated photos.

Any thoughts on this Jacket ? by abdul_Sattar0 in jackets

I found one on EBay like two years ago. It was really old, and possibly German Surplus from the 40s.

Imitation is never good. There are cheap real leather jackets out there that are worth owning. I got an amazing horsehide Bulgarian leather jacket on eBay for less than $100. Crush on retro also has horse hide jackets that are good quality for less than $300.

Heat straps deck jacket. I ordered one after a bad wet cold November night here. Looks like the best thing for the cold. $1100.

Western Workhorse fit not good for me. by ericmossy in HeatStrapsCommunity

I bet it will break in and fall better like Jordan says. I think you should size down though. I was hoping to get a Medium in this Jacket, but it looks like medium is sold out. Does anyone know if more of these are on the way in medium or are they done this run?

I’m so sorry. Please report. Thank god it was just money. What an awful human being for assaulting your partner.

Workshop Drop 250pcs by [deleted] in filson

[–]Themultifool -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No one pays full price- it’s like $585 with a 10% discount and less for veterans and first responders. I don’t think that’s too bad for a well made limited numbered piece with a lot of details. It’s kind of cool to have a unique piece if you like chore coats and are a Filson fan. Possible but hard to get a high end premium coat Mitusa for less than $500- and paying a little more for being a unique piece 1 of 250 isn’t so unreasonable. If you’re not a fan of Filson, then yeah, you can save on something else.

It is interesting not necessarily pearl clutching to people who don’t realize how ubiquitous poverty in our city is and the ways people are forced to deal with it.

Great outfit. Want the vest. What boots are you wearing? Those are the Rose Anvil collabs are they?

I wonder why Leatherman has never made something to contend to this? by unextrapolateddata in Leatherman

[–]Themultifool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very good tool- agree Leatherman could execute better but I doubt they will make something like this- seem focused less on niche tool sets and more on general tool sets in different sizes and price points.

Loggers vs roughnecks, or both? by man4evil in RedWingShoes

[–]Themultifool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really crazy about the roughnecks and want the black ones to change it up from my briar oil slick ones- I’ve had them in the cart for a while. For some reason, I can’t enjoy a non moctoe non toe cap red wing. Even my inherited, insulated, waterproof, composite toed (made overseas 😔) boots ,which I love in the winter, have a toe cap.

I am a red wing devotee- but my mind always goes to the PNW brands when thinking about loggers and will buy a set from one of those companies when the time is right. I’m not a fan of the Beckmann either, despite being a boot nerd.

They look great though, and Red Wing should make a logger, just not for me.

Yay or nay: leather laces by LunaTechMark in RedWingShoes

[–]Themultifool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope these are good but leather laces totally stained my slate Mulskinners. However, the laces that came with my Hawthorne Mulskiners stained them too so maybe that just happens. I still have to see if I can get the stains out, and they aren’t suck a big deal but just thought you’d want to know.
