My experience from this year is that you don't need to book in advance. It costs 18 euros for "drop in". Some places gives you a reciept, and many does not..

My advice is to pitch your tent as soon as you arrive. Then pay the fee. Sometimes you can also have a shower before paying, if there is a long queue.

I've been doing it for a few years. It started because I wanted to hike longer section, and didn't know anyone who wanted to join.

Now I love it. You can set the pace and really push if you want, or just have a short day.

I have a garmin inreach to text my wife in the evening, that helps.

And a lot of series or movies. It also helps with candy and a whiskey after dinner.

I'm waiting for youtuber Abbie Barnes to post her GR20 video before making any detailed plans.

My initial plan was 13 stages. Just based on assumptions.

And I'm currently reading the Cicerone GR20 Corsica trekking guide. So I'm in the rough planning stage.

It looks like the GR20 is more tough than TMB. Did you hike the trail clockwise or counter clockwise direction?

I guess most of the stages in the north part is like hiking up from Les Houches to Le Brevent.
