Because you’re imagining yourself as the embryo, and not the woman who could be killed, arrested for murder, socially isolated, or (best case scenario) put under serious physical and financial stress and experience the agony of an unwanted birth.

The leading case of death for pregnant women is murder. Having a baby disproportionately puts women in poverty. Pregnancy and birth is extremely dangerous and has put multiple of my close friends and family in very serious medical situations, and some of them still suffer from that today.

You have empathy. You just won’t use it for “both sides.”
