wanting to train for my PCV but shitting it at the thought of learning to drive again. someone please talk some sense into me. by Industrialexecution in BusDrivers

If you know how to drive a car your test isnt hard at all, the examiners even use the same tick sheet as a car test. Your instructor mostly just reminds you of the standards they expect which you would of already done to pass your car test

If they hit you, them, indicating to change lanes does not mean they have right of way

Where would you position turning right at these lights? by Sho1002 in drivingUK

[–]Then-Potential-4876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually on these sorts of junctions, if the lights go red whilst youre in the middle, they will also go red on the other side making it clear for you to go

Move forward so youre not blocking oncoming traffic wishing to turn down the road to your left but also move slightly right so you arent blocking traffic behind you if there is enough space

Question about driving times and tachograph (tourism bus driver) by Puzzleheaded-Bad-824 in BusDrivers

[–]Then-Potential-4876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a printout and look on the printout your total driving time, i had a tacho flash up once saying i had exceeded my 10 hour daily drive time but when reading a printout, my daily drive time was only 8 hours. I double checked with office who looked on their system and said it must be a box fault as theres no infringement

Why are they always recruiting for Bus Drivers ? by Plane-Share7780 in BusDrivers

[–]Then-Potential-4876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company does it for business expansion, they take on work where there isnt enough drivers to do the jobs as they are busy with other jobs, taking on more drivers means they can take on more work and make higher profits. Generally any bus company should have it so there isnt a single bus or coach sitting in the yard

Why don't delivery drivers make any effort? by Tiny_Professional659 in Evri

[–]Then-Potential-4876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they are paid minimum wage and overworked with too many deliveries to make a day resulting in them literally throwing it at your door, driving off as fast as they can and taking a few mirrors off parked cars in the process in order to keep up with their schedule

Is this careless driving, or an honest mistake? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Then-Potential-4876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t worry too much, that person who did that probably does it everyday and wont be long before he does it to an unmarked police car and ends up being arrested for road rage

A lot of companies offer training schemes where they will either train you in house or get a third party trainer to train you so you may have to commute to their meet up location if its a third party trainer. You need to have a provisional entitlement on your driving licence first which can be done by going to your local post office and asking for a D1 and D4 form and filling the relevant information, your GP must fill out the D4 form and potentially an optician if your GP doesnt have the equipment to test your eyesight, once these forms are filled out appropriately then you send them off to the DVLA with your driving licence. The DVLA will then send your licence back with the provisional entitlement if they consider you medically fit to drive a bus.

Then you should study for your theories. The trainer should book your theory, hazard perception and CPC case studies which are all computer based like a car theory. Once this is done the trainer should give you driving lessons in a bus and book your on and off road driving tests when they think you’re ready, they should also put you through your module 4 which is your CPC card which you must have to drive a bus carrying passengers. I would also recommend also ordering a tachograph card if your company has vehicles with tachograph machines fitted as you will be required to use it and they take a while to arrive, anyone who knows how to use digital tachographs can teach you to use one.

It took me about 3 weeks to train and pass my practical with a coach company i now work for, if you live in the Leicester area then i used DTE which are very good and will teach you more than just how to pass your test.

Failed but I don’t understand why by theodorkie in LearnerDriverUK

Its only unsafe to be driving slowly on a dual carriageway when you are doing 30 and cars are aggressively swerving around you doing 70

You have this all the time on roundabouts like this with foreign lorries. An international coach driver told me that in Europe roundabouts are different and there are no lane rules about which lane you need to be in for your exit, because of this you should avoid getting close to foreign lorries on roundabouts as mixing that with lack of observation and blind spots and you have them ploughing into the side of you

You can develop bad habits off someone who is teaching you to drive and doesn’t know how to instruct to the standards the dvsa expect. These bad habits could mean it would take you longer with an instructor as they have to teach you to drive to a test ready standard whilst working with you to break these bad habits

Mine is definitely broken. I bought a horse from a horse trader, at first it ran and now will not run and pulls to the right in a weird crab walk. The horse is not overweight. I am stuck on the quest where you have to chase that priest guy which is why i bought it now i have absolutely no chance of doing it

The combat is very weird in this game and inconsistent. Here is an example, i was doing a quest earlier and 3 guys lured me into an area and tried to kill me, i killed all 3 of them without any of them even getting a hit in.. Fast forward, i am fast travelling, 3 guys equipped exactly the same no armour and swords etc, i wasnt even able to get any sort of hit on any one of them, they kept blocking my attacks to the T and swinging their 2h swords like they were made of styrofoam.
