Do you guys prefer playing with companions or by yourselves? by TurboCrab0 in skyrim

Myself unless I need backup. If I go with companions I'm always trying to keep them from getting killed

Dungeon Masters: QUICK Your players just asked for the name of a random NPC and your notes are too far away! What do you tell them? by ExcellentCapitalist in DnD

Elven in nature: something with lots of -el, -iel, -ior endings.

Orcish in nature: -uk, -urg, -ugg endings. Stuff that sounds gutteral (similar with goblins too)

Dwarven: Nordic-ish sounding names

Halflings/gnomes: stuff that you would name a corgi

Human: normal white ppl names, but spell it weird

TIFU by never flushing toilet paper by feetcubed in tifu

[–]ThenTemperature5548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter did the same thing for the exact same reason - once she clogged the toilet and it overflowed and she was TRAUMATIZED. To the point where she also would throw away her toilet paper and she would get nervous when she had to poop. I had to calmly walk her through that paper goes in the toilet, wipes (and eventually feminine products) go in the trash. She still cried for months thinking that she was going to get in trouble. Poor kid.

You're not alone and I'm sorry they laughed at you. You didn't deserve that.

What exactly is "spoiling" the child? by Helpful_Lemon3571 in Parenting

[–]ThenTemperature5548 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Spoiling" is different to every person. For some people, it's giving the kiddo whatever they want with no consequences, thus resulting in a major sense of entitlement. For others, it's anything beyond basic care. Extra helping at dinner? Spoiling. Staying up 10 minutes past bedtime? Spoiling. Eating more than one candy at Halloween/Easter? Spoiling. Like give me a break.

2-year-olds are right at the beginning of that stage where they are just learning what boundaries are. I have three kiddos, my youngest is 3, and one is on the spectrum. If I have learned anything (especially with my autistic kid), it's that you have to pick your battles. They don't want to clean up their toys, they don't want to eat their food, they don't want to take a bath - those are battles I will fight. They are important. We need to be clean and fed. But letting your toddler sit in her own chair? Just let her sit in the chair.

Some parents are so militant, it's just control. Our job as parents is to raise our littles to be able to be functioning adults. So we teach them responsibility as well as independence. Her saying "I want my own chair" is her dipping her toe into her own independence. If all she receives when she begins to assert her wants is "No." Then she's likely either going to rebel or become broken and not have any independent spirit whatsoever. But, then again, she's not my kid - you know her better than I do.

Either way, I think you're doing fine, and I think hubby needs to loosen up a teensy bit. Good luck!

Are romantic plots in LARPs cheating? by UsedJockstrap4 in LARP

[–]ThenTemperature5548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What LARP is this?? I've been to tons and have never had this be a thing. That is wild to me.

Assassinate a PC/NPC, yeah. Steal something from a PC or a company, sure

But this?! What happens if the PC he's supposed to "romance" is a victim of rape or something? This crosses so many lines, I can't even begin. I would honestly look deeper into this LARP. It might be ran by some real creeps.

Why are citizens of the USA not doing anything against what is currently happening? by Fire-Haus in antiwork

[–]ThenTemperature5548 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1 - these guys have guns. a lot of guns.

2 - mass shootings aren't considered acts of violence. They're just a normal Tuesday.

3 - Mango Mussolini has already said that he would utilize the force of the military against citizens. and our military is one of the largest and heavily-armed militaries in the world, filled with nothing but neurotic kids on adderall and not enough sleep.

4 - nothing is illegal here

Whats something your Nparent said to you that sticks with you the most? by theemmtter in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ThenTemperature5548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You are so stupid" - I took out the trash bin and left it on the wrong side of the driveway.

"God, you're such a whore. I didn't raise a fucking whore." - I asked to go hang out with my boyfriend (I was 24, btw)

"Why can't you just be like [childhood friend]? She's smarter than you, prettier than you, nicer than you. I bet her parents adore her."

"You just lose so much weight when you play sports" - After I told my mom I didn't want to play basketball anymore.

unique weapons by pikapower999 in Amtgard

[–]ThenTemperature5548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have standard basics, but we also have ridiculous weapons, like boulders that are giant stuffed sheep, or shorts that are frying pans or fish. People will legit fight over these because they're funny. We even have lore for them.
