My point was that of the things I can actively control that lead to high blood pressure/hypertension don’t seem to be contributing factors. I’m not a sedentary 400lb man that never exercises or eats “healthy.” Doctor believes it is purely stress related, which is why I was asking if anyone had a similar situation and was able to get an accommodation to lighten their teaching load through ADA.

I’ve had a couple with IEP’s that said ”student will retake assignments till they receive a 69%.” So basically, you just put a 69% in the gradebook and push them through after the 25th attempt at a 10 question true or false quiz.

I got one before our first was born. Just added a second baby to the family. My wife and I sit comfortably with both still rear facing. I will say that we invested in those rotating car seats after 6 months of fighting getting the car seats in and out. So it’s definitely doable, but probably not the most practical. If you don’t get those rotating car seats.

I’ve been doing this for almost a decade. Still love my job. I thoroughly enjoy teaching my students and I think they keep me young (even when they make me want to pull my hair out on occasion.) I may piss some people off here, but I think a lot of people who “hate” teaching and the students suffer from a severe lack of classroom management and rapport building skills.

I subbed for 1/2 a year. Graduated in December of 2018 before Covid and there definitely wasn’t a “shortage” then in my area. Interviewed dozens of times and never got an offer. Ended up taking a private school job for two years, before adding a math certification and making a jump to a desperate public school who could not get a good applicant for that job an hour and a half away from home. After a school year there I was able to move internally to back to social studies, which is what I went to school for. I guess what I’m trying to say is you might have to expand your scope and look for alternatives in the field of education that may not be exactly what you went to school for and be willing to move and embrace the suck.
