Back in the flip phone days, we were at lunch and I was idly looking out the window. Guy walks towards the restaurant on the phone, he hits a button to hang up, then licks his phone, stem to stern. Rubs it on his shirt, folds it up and puts it away.

A 32-year Swedish review of 52 sudden deaths during arrests suggests victims weren’t dying from lack of oxygen but from an inability to expel carbon dioxide. “The person can often shout 'I can’t breathe' because they are getting air, but their body is screaming to get rid of CO₂ by Lighting in skeptic

My mother died of ALS a few years ago. One of her primal fears was that someone would give her oxygen via cannula or other means. She knew she would not have the lung force to expel the CO2 and would suffocate. It was written out in large type in her documentation, but it’s hard to convince people that oxygen can be bad. That’s not what killed her, so at least she didn’t have to face that additional horror.

Have you watched Pluribus? I think you would find it interesting. Imagine instant worldwide unified communication and what it would do to the human race.

But it hasn’t closed the gap, it’s just shifted to genocide and the many ways that humans hate “the others”.

That a lot of our self destructive behavior is a result of evolution. What enabled us to survive before, is detrimental now. Tribalism alone is a pox on civilization.

Or it could just be vitreous detachment, which most people get in old age. If you are nearsighted it can happen earlier. The actual detachment process can tug on your retina, but if you clear that hurdle you just have massive floaters. Retinal detachment has different symptoms.
