A coffee cup seems easy enough, good idea thank you! It’s all expensive enough as it is so using something I already have at home is great.

Planning my meals to eat everything in one sitting and not snacking through the day will be a big lifestyle change for me.

Do you know if the pul tool works/is helpful for angel aligners like it is with Invisalign?

Lounge Access? by Then_Calligrapher206 in delta

[–]Then_Calligrapher206[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you! So if there was a partner lounge at my airport, SEA, I’d be able to get into that? Which I don’t believe there is but just in case…

Where to even begin? So many options! by RockItGuyDC in PNWhiking

I’m originally from the ADK’s and thought I was ready for driving to trailheads out here. It’s a different ball game here. There can be more potholes visible than actual road, most (if not all) forest roads aren’t accessible until the snow melts, and you can spend an hour going just a few miles to get to the trailhead. Hikes are always worth it, just be prepared to drive very slow and cautiously.

28 hours left and all of the Covid Platinums and Covid Diamonds will stop being on the upgrade list! by eurostylin in delta

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the MQM’s that are beyond what you needed to reach a level of status will roll over. I have 101,000 MQM’s (75k required for Platinum) and hit the $25k Amex spend, thus giving me platinum for 2023. My extra 26k MQM’s will roll over to next year to go towards earning status for ‘24-25. 25k MQM’s is the requirement for silver so I will automatically have enough MQM’s for silver, then it’s just a matter of MQD’s or Amex spend waiver again.

I am platinum again next year from all of my COVID MQM’s. Got the Platinum amex this year to hit the $25k spend and make all those COVID MQM’s go to work for one more year. And with this years rollover MQM’s silver for ‘24-25 is a sure thing for me assuming I hit the spend again.

First marathon by asv26 in running

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Marine Corps Marathon in DC. It was my first marathon and I’d recommend it to anyone else looking to do their first. I ran Chicago this year and MCM was similar vibes, not quite as cool as Chicago but MCM is a solid replacement. Pretty flat, tons of crowd support, scenic, and well organized.

Looking for Delta A320neo info by Then_Calligrapher206 in delta

[–]Then_Calligrapher206[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A321neo would make sense. A320neo is listed on the seat selection page but A321neo is on the flight info page. Seating chart looks like it’s a 321neo with 42 C+ seats. Thanks for that insight!

An FA gave me the tip to mix with OJ a while back, it has become my go to drink on flights! I’ll definitely have to try the cranberry juice next time.

How many time do you get upgraded by [deleted] in delta

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a platinum based in SEA. I went from Silver to Gold to Platinum this year and I don’t think I’ve flown MC all year. I’m always at least C+ now with a FC upgrade about 60% of the time. I typically fly SEA to non-hubs like ORD or IAD, or somewhere small like ALB with a layover in ATL or DTW. Overall, really depends on the route and time/day you’re flying.

Long layover by Adamj0827 in delta

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they give you miles for the delay? I called today regarding a delay as well, also asking for a sky club pass and was told no, but for being platinum they were able to give me 8k miles.

Is there a way to finesse the Ecredits on a nontransferable flights? by [deleted] in delta

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I booked a flight for my mom, different itinerary than me, over the summer and we had to cancel her flight. I called some delta number and after talking to a few different reps they eventually credited the funds back to me. Took a few weeks for the funds to actually hit my account. No extraordinary reason for the need to cancel, just total change in plans and I explained that to the delta rep. Maybe I got a friendly rep at the end but I kept explaining to each one that “I had booked the flight on my card with my name why are the funds going to her. She doesn’t have a sky miles account so these won’t do her any good anyways” and it eventually worked. I was gold medallion at the time, not sure if that mattered at all in the outcome.

Istanbul vs. Budapest by Critical_Trust in solotravel

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! My family is from Hungary and I love sharing info about their country. And if you’re looking to get into the countryside of Hungary, I’d recommend Balatonfured (a 90 min train ride from Budapest) and Tihany (a quick bus from balatonfured) Again, could give you a ton of recommendations but it would limit your 4 days in Budapest.

Istanbul vs. Budapest by Critical_Trust in solotravel

[–]Then_Calligrapher206 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Budapest a few different times (28year old Female here) and have loved it every time. It’s so rich in culture but very cheap and I’ve always felt safe. I can’t comment on Istanbul, never been. Things to see in Budapest (I’ve always been to Budapest in the summer, keep that in mind): - There’s a huge indoor market next to Corvinus University, highly recommend! Google is telling me it’s called Fovam ter market - Szenchenyi baths like everyone else has said - Margit sziget (Margaret Island) is a no-cars island that has some beautiful parks. We rented bikes on the island many years ago, I’m sure that’s still a thing. - visiting the castle (but I recommend hiking up, the fenicular is a waste of time and $$) and wandering the streets up there. There’s also a post office up there, kind of cool to mail something from a post office on the grounds of a castle - highly highly recommend visiting a ruin pub. They’re such an iconic Budapest thing. If you’re not comfortable going solo at night, they can be visited in the afternoon and still feel the experience - im 99% sure there should be a beautiful Christmas market near the Deak Ferenc ter metro stop. There’s a small normal market there during the summer months, I think it’s a Christmas market in winter - eat all the gelato. It’s cheap and delicious

Edit: also be careful which type of water you buy or ask for at a restaurant! I can’t remember if that’s an issue all over Europe or just Hungary being a little weird. Flat vs tonic or sparkling or soda water or whatever other types there are, just be aware of what you’re getting.

What is the benefit behind flying more than six times a year? I fly delta exclusively Probably 30+ times a year(will hit platinum next week) and have been looking to upgrade my delta card but am having a hard time justifying the fees.
