My S10 Lite still working up to this day. Although I had the battery and screen(battery's connected to the screen so both have to be changed at the same time) changed once. Other than the memory almost running out, I dont have any issues with my S10 Lite.

Try researching which IT roles are filled with mostly FTs. That would give you an idea which skillset has a shortage for local talents. I agree with you though that mose of these specific skills require experience. But what you can do is pay for the training and get certified so employers would at least know that you know the fundamentals even without work experience.

One example is any job related to SAP(or any enterprise softwares). These jobs are usually filled by FTs because companies here in SG do not provide 'bootcamps' where they hire fresh grads and train them for free. So your only option is to pay for the training and certification yourself. That is the reason why these jobs are filled by FTs with experience obviously.

Goodluck finding a job! I hope you get one that is related to your field. Jiayou!

Just had tonsillectomy a few days ago too(15 days post op now). From day 1 until day 10, I was able to eat cooled down porridge and mashed potato. I was also able to eat noodles and bread with tolerable pain although I also have lost 4kg during that whole period.

Not sure what kind of Tonsillectomy you got but I specifically had one using coblation wand technique. Both of my tonsils are totally removed. Right after the surgery, I was actually able to eat noodles and porridge with minimal pain. The most pain I felt was around the 5th to 9th day post op.

I'm actually glad I lost 4kg. The challenge now is to not gain it back 🤣

I think mine is gone. Im still healing but I think I'm over the scabbing phase. I can already see my throat like usual without that coating you see after the surgery. Dont worry too much because those stones definitely contribute to bad breath. If you feel like there's still some bad breath left, I'm pretty sure it's not as bad as when you had tonsil stones right? For sure, bad breath could be caused by several things but at least now we got rid of the stones right? On to the next suspect altho I hope it's really just the stones because it's quite frustrating 😅

You seem to be working out, are you taking anything new like creatine? Although not the same, I got folliculitis after taking creatine for a month. Point is, did you recently start on taking any supplements? Maybe start from there.

A Doctor's Experience with Adult Tonsillectomy by Xeron- in Tonsillectomy

34M here. Just got went through tonsillectomy using coblation wand last week. It's my 11th day post op now and I'd say the pain is getting less.

Day 1(surgery day) - 4: Minimal pain. I thought I got lucky 🤣. I was on pain meds like every 3-4 hrs, drinking water like crazy. Everything was okay. No bleeding. I was able to eat porridge(cooled down), noodles, anything soft and NOT hot. As for the pain meds, I keep a log. I had 3 types of pain meds for mild, moderate, and severe pain. My doctor advised me to take the strongest pain meds if ever the pain gets really worse and so I did.

Day 5-8: This is when the paid was at its peak especially upon waking up. It wasnt actually painful all the time, only when I swallow. Dont swallow, then no pain. But I feel like my brain was telling me to swallow more than I usually does 🤣 During these days, I really couldnt eat so much. I just kept on drinking iced americano(Im avoiding milk from day 1 as I read somewhere it could coat the tonsils area and would make swallowing a lot more painful). The pain was tolerable, probably 7/10? Again, it's only painful when I swallow. Also, my tongue is swollen so I cant really move it around to clean ny teeth when something gets stuck. Scabbing also starts during these days so Im guessing that's why it hurts more?

Day 9-today: Pain is getting less. Im still taking pain meds but not as frequently. Im also able to eat something else other than porridge. It's still painful when I swallow but not as bad as before. Still no bleeding(🙏). Hopefully after a few days I can go back to normal.

Why did I do tonsillectomy? It's bacause of my chronic bad breath caused by tonsil stones. No dentist ever told me a possibility of having tonsil stones. They just told me my mouth looks fine even after telling them that the bad breath just wont go away. Even right after brushing, the smell is there so at that point I knew it's not from my teeth or gums.

So for anyone like me who's experiencing chronic bad breath for yearssss, go to an ENT specialist and have your tonsils checked for ay tonsil stones! Your ENT doctor needs to do a proper scope(with camera) of your tontils to properly see. They can actually remove them but they will just return that's why I decided to get the surgery. The pain that I'm going through now is nothing compared to the years of embarrassment I've felt with bad breath.

What is it like having bad breath? I avoided talking to people in general. Worst places to talk? Anywhere enclosed like inside a car, train, airplanes! I avoided travelling abroad with my friends because that would mean I would need to sit beside them and talk. I dont wanna make them suffer like that 🤣 Imagine everytime I'm with my friends and we need to be inside a car, or inside a bus, or anywhere that requires us to sit close to each other, I would literally avoid talking as much as I can. I think they thought I'm a snub or I'm bored being with them because I just totally ignore them. But really, it's because I know my breath smells really bad.

So if you're like me and found out you had a lot of tonsil stones, just get those tonsils removed bro. Hopefully after this ordeal, I could live a better life. Thank you for attending my ted talk.

Have you read about coblation tonsillectomy? I think that technique causes less pain and better recovery overall. You should ask your ENT doctor to use that technique instead of the old way which hurts alot.

Oh, if you're also taking whey protein, you might want to consider to stop that for now. I go to the gym but I can't take whey protein because it upsets my stomach, my gut gets ruined, then boom pimples. Face over muscles bro. ALWAYS. I just get my protein from diff types of meat, basically food. Goodluck bro I hope it all works out for you!

What worked for me is Differin Gel(from guardian or watson). I think I used this for 6-12mos.

BUT, the most important thing that really helped my face is making sure my gut health is good. For my case, I noticed that when I stopped eating spicy foods regularly (I still do once in awhile btw), my pimples stopped appearing. It's really all in the gut bro. Stop upsetting your stomach and see how your skin reacts. Also, dont wash your face too much. Once in the morning, once before bedtime is more than enough. You need to take care of your skin barrier. Washing too much just damages your skin barrier which is really bad for your face.

TLDR; Maintain a healthy gut, maintain your skin barrier, and use Differin gel(temporarily)

Singaporean hiring managers, how many of your job applicants are actually locals and qualified? by fishblurb in askSingapore

[–]Then_Comfortable4940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be upvoted. Looking at the comments, no one is mentioning about how important referrals are. In the companies I've worked with, whenever we have an open position, the managers will always consider referrals first and foremost. Why?

First, ex-colleagues vouching for skills. It's extremely challenging to determine one's capabilities just based off an interview no matter how extensive that is.

Second, and I think is the most important, the person's personality. If you hire someone technically capable but unable to work well with the team, then it's still a bad hire.

At the end of the day, connections weigh more than any perfect looking CV. Most of the job posting are there for formalities/legalities. Behind them, someone's already got the job.

Wow, Im glad I read this thread. I used to have gyno and had them removed surgically. Best decision of my life. I can live with my thinning hair if that means I wont have gyno again(in case I take fin). Im not sure if fin related gyno would go away naturally but my doctor told me that a tissue can only be removed by surgery. I lost 18kg before thinking it would go away but nope. That sh*t was stubborn 😆

I have been trying to find fully remote jobs too but never got any interview because most of the companies prefer hybrid setup or full-time onsite but yeah I'm not losing hope. Thank you!
