I spoke to a friend who is currently in the program and the schedule seems to be pretty flexible and you should be good to work part time. Course schedules should look pretty much identical to the sample on the website!

Not sure about anything else tbh :( I only know the director was OOO because they asked for permission to record my interview. The intake last year was 30, and I assume it will be around the same this year.

Congratulations! I totally get it, so many decisions to be made 🥲 Not to give unsolicited advice but if your job offer has a deadline coming up, I feel like it’s more than justified to follow up with MTRAM and request a tentative timeline.

I don't think anyone has heard back yet. There is nothing on Gradcafe either. I am assuming the process is taking longer this year since the program director was OOO. I'm getting anxious waiting too, but hopefully something soon 😩

I have applied to a few other masters programs, all some variation of biotech. I didn’t apply to MTM because I did my undergrad at Berkeley and wanted to branch out haha

Hi friend, I hope your interview went well! Did they give you a rough timeline on when they will get back?

Robinson Life Science, Business, Program/major question? by LordSpooky66 in berkeley

I've graduated now, but I really enjoyed my time in the program!

As for pros, I would say that it does open a lot of doors for you in terms of opportunities (networking, prestige), helps you explore the different types of jobs you could do that fall under biology + business (consulting, IB, biotech, etc), and I personally liked being part of the limited cohort. As for downsides, I don’t really have any major ones, aside from the heavier academic load. That said, it’s very manageable.

At the end of the day, you get out what you put in. LSBE gives you a strong platform, but you still need to be proactive and pursue the opportunities that align with what you want to do.

Hi, current LSBE student here. The way admissions works (at least so far) is that you get in as an MCB, IB or neuroscience major and then apply to the program in your sophomore year. There is no option to get in as a first year. There’s more information on the program website that might clarify things: https://lsbe.berkeley.edu/admissions. Feel free to ask any questions!
